Thanks, although he is still pretty out of it and seems a little "off". Does anybody have any idea how long it will take the drugs they used to put him to sleep to wear off. I'm a little worried because I don't recall him being this dopey for so long after he had the tumor removed 2 months ago and I won't be able to get in touch with the vet now until Monday and the ER Vet said they can't give info over the phone but I could bring him in if I needed too? Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks again I will be sure to pass all the well wishes on to Chance, I know he will appreciate them :) I know I do ;)

Well aren't you sweet :) He is doing much better today. Saturday was very rough for us, I hadn't seen him come out of anesthia ever because he always recovers at the vets office and not at home. I honeslty thought I was going to lose him. He didn't come out of it until almost 8 at night and then still seemed a little off the rest of the night. Sunday was much better, he even wanted to play with his tennis ball. He is getting a little better everyday so that gives me hope. We just have to make it the next 3 weeks without an infection, but since he is on antibiotics hopefully that won't be a problem either. Thanks again for asking about my little man, I will be sure to pass is on to him that he is being thought of all the way in Hawaii ;)

So glad to here that Chance is doing ok, SuzyQ sends very gentle wiggles to your boy. As for me I hope you are doing ok now too, it's so awful when it's your baby and they can't tell you how they are and you can't explain why he has to wear that awful thing.

Thank you we appreciate your kind words and wiggeles, I made sure I told Chance they were sent ;) I'm still a little nervous myself about the whole thing, I figure hopefully as he has more good days so will I. Actually (knock of wood) he has only had the cone on the first day he was home. We have been home since it happened and we are just keeping a third eye each on him, to be honest it freaked him out a little too much for me to even try putting it on him again. He hasn't bothered with his ear much, he still wants to shake his head but I just tell him to stop and he does. I am grateful that aside from Saturday things have been going pretty good considering the situation we are in. My office is closed because of the storm coming this way so I got to leave early and I don't plan on letting him out of my sight until I go back to work on maybe Wednesday, so we get more Mommy & Me time so I'm excited, we just take it day by day and luckily they keep getting better :) I'll stop rambling now, but thanks again for all your kind words and thoughts for my sweet boy. I do pass them along everytime I read about them and I know Chance appreciates it too ;)

I'm new to the boards, but couldn't help reply. Hope all is going well with Chance! Our dog, Mieszko, has been through that surgery twice now - yes, once on each ear, one year apart. After the initial surgery, its just six weeks of patience in keeping him from shaking his head. My wife and I used to be trained that as soon as we heard the head shakes start, we would both run toward the sound screaming "Mieszko, no!"

Hope you and Chance are both coping well with the healing!
