Swollen ear

I need some advice if anyone has any please. Chance has issues with yeast and it's that time of year again when he has his flare ups. But he has me confused. His ears had been bothering him the last few days and I have been giving him the drops I am supposed to use when he gets the flare ups. So when I went to give him his dose today I noticed that he has a golf ball (or so) size swell on the inside of is ear right where I would usually flip them over to put the drops in so they run down the ear canal. Naturally he didn't like it when I touched it so I just applied the drops as best as I could. I am on my out to pick up Benadryll since we ran out but I was wondering if anybody had any other suggestions to help him out untill I can call the vet on Monday. The only I have done different lately is gave him a new treat last night, it was the Wellness Venison treats and I have him on Eagle Pack Holistic Anchovy, Sardine & Salmon Formula (he has been on it now for about 5 weeks). If any one has any ideas please feel free to offer them up, any help is always appreciated. Thanks in advance from Chance and myself

Mmmmmm...the first thing that comes to mind, besides an allergic reaction of some kind, is an ear hematoma which is a collection of blood and/or fluid in the ear flap. You can research it pretty easily online Don't have any advice on how to better get his ear drops in him though, sorry

Yeah I just googled it and it looks like you may be right :( Poor Chance, it seems to always be something, I don't think he is ever going to get a break. I didn't see anything on how to make him comfortable untill I can get him into the vet? Any ideas are appreciated, Chance would send wiggles but he's pretty preoccupied with his ear that's stuck pointing left :( Thanks again, I do appreciate the input very much.

No, his grandma suggested warm compresses so I tried that, and it seemed to soothe him for the moment. It's still swollen so I will try that next, I just want to try to keep him as comfy as I can until Monday when I can talk to his doc. Well the swelling has gone done some bot not much over the course of the last 24 hours. I have tried warm and cold compresses last night and today and it seems to help him some. The hardest part is keeping him from shaking his head :( I am calling first thing in the morning to speak with his doc and see what he says. Hopefully everything will turn out alright. Thanks for all the suggestions and sending all the thoughts and vibes, we appreciate them very much If anyone else knows of any other home remedies we could try please feel free to leave them. Until then I will keep you posted as he hopefully keeps getting better.
