Boxer Buddy
I feel better now...lol

Logan is 10 mos. old and altho he does have his little bouts of energy, he lives for his naps. When I have read about other boxers who get up so early, I feel so lucky that I'm usually crawling into Logi's crate about 930am and kissin his little squishy face off trying to wake him up.
I've always wondered if it was because he was originally a rescue and kept in a crate 24/7 (Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). Then I worried because he was found to have a heart murmur. My son brings his 8 mos. old boxer over for play dates and the 2 of them drive me absolutely crazy. Neither one of them would think of napping for fear they would miss something. I love it tho cause then I see that Logan is a "normal" puppy, he just loves his naps anywhere in the house.

I'll run an errand and say "Logan, want to go for a ride with mama?" He'll lift his head, stretch his legs and look at me as if to say, "No....I'm napping but feel free to stop and get me something while you are out."...lol. I adore my lazy little boy. There is nothing sweeter than seeing him laying in our bed w/his head on daddy's pillow, snoring his little face off so content. I will kiss him or tell him how much I love him and he will barely wake up. Open a banana in the next County and you would think he had a fire under him. Selective hearing maybe?
Happy New Year,
debi

Funny you should mention bananas! I just gave Simon one today for the first time. He acted like I was trying to poison him and laid down with it two inches from his nose eyeing in suspiciously......

Hmmmmmmmmm....I think Tae falls in the ADHD category as well....lol. When I first got her she was super-ADHD, now she's a "bit" calmer!

I should be so lucky

I have 2, 6 mths and 8 mths they are wide open until they can't go any more they sleep a while and go again , sounds like heaven to me L O L

Daisy is like that... She blasts out the door when I get home from work... She doesn't stop until we start eating dinner... The best thing is her sleeping... She always has her body stretched out like a frog.... or like she is dead... I have to check her to make sure she didn't give herself a heartattack... I think she is also ADHD... Not to mention when you say eat she kidney beans around the house and can't wait for you to feed her... I love my boxer...

 I can't believe I've stumbled on this thread. Ever since Rocky came home me and my family have referred to him as the lil/big "lug" He is such a lazy boy! But don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE that about him. I've read countless threads on how active boxers are and have always felt as though I missed out on the pleasures of that boxer trait.
BUT... along came Nikita  I swear, Rocky doesn't know what to do with her :) She has all the energy I've read about and seems to be making up for Rocky's slack, lol. Her ADHD is lovely though, but every now and then we take turns of who gets to watch her at home, lol. Most of the time I have my mother volunteering to have ROcky in her bed

But yes, I have one real lazy boxer whom I adore!

LOL, this thread is just too funny!!!!! He just lays there and looks at me with a face that says, "No, you go ahead. I'm good right here." That is sooo hilarious!! I can just see Simon's face  I can't even begin to imagine what a lazy boxer is like. This is my second boxer who is female as was my first and man alive...they are soo full of vinegar!!! As Cami said, they play hard and sleep hard. I wonder if it is a guy :p thing??

To put this in perspective, Simon hasn't moved since I posted this original thread hours ago!

Too funny!
Cisco is the PERFECT dog! (I know, arent they all!)
He is very much a couch potatoe around the house.
He is very calm when I take him out, wiggle butt all the way, ready to meet an greet but never jumps.
And will run all over the back yard when I want to play fetch.
Perfect.

Completely Boxer Crazy
Changed Magic's diet

Magic got a little lazy when she turned 4 1/2. She would sleep late and lounge around like a princess. I got worried and started wondering if it was her diet. I changed her diet and all of a sudden, she acted like a puppy again. Deeg, our rescue cutie pie, is way out there...puppy zooms, pacing, bouncing from one toy to the next, following us around the house and on and on. We have to keep our eye on him at all times. I am feeding him the same diet that I switched Magic to.

Definately TYPE B personality...

What a great thread! I was beginning to wonder if my Beasley boy was a candidate for the SHORT BUS 'cause he's EXTREMELY laid back compared to other Boxers we know! It's not that he never has his little bursts of energy (bunny patrol in the back yard, welcome home mommy wigglin', boxer burnin') but he can sack out with the best of them! sleepicon

Granted, he's still on his meds and is still wearin' the evil collar after his hematoma surgery, but even when he's healthy and uninjured he's a couch potato. Loves to snuggle & cuddle and makes the cutest snoring noises ever! lovicon

I would never complain about a dog who'll sleep through a week's worth of Bowl Games and not get up every time I went for a cold one in the fridge! Once he does his meet and greet he'll probably sleep through the Super Bowl, too!

Love my TYPE B boy!!!
