Good Luck Asia!!!!! can't wait to hear from you guys.........
(Blood pressure meds) once a day and he only restricted us from promoting activity like don't play ball for more than 10/15 min. at a time and no long walks just short around the block slow walks. He said let her control her own play in the yard and house and live a happy life. Quality is better than quanity most of the time. About 3 months ago over a weekend she had an episode just as you explained Asia's. She was so weak and didn't want to eat etc. We went to our vet and he consulted the Cardio vet, did blood work, Ekg's etc. She was starting to go into Congestive Heart Failure. We also had no warning. She just woke up Sat morning and starting the symptoms. She is now on 4 meds 2x a day and seems to be much better. She is not back to her normal crazy hyper self but I don't think now that will ever happen. She is however, happy, comfortable and still shows spurts of play and independence in demanding attention sometimes. Her big brother is at a loss because he really wants to play with her but knows he can't. He is such a love bug he will kiss her face whan she is resting etc. She goes today for another EKG to make sure the meds are still working to stop the VPC's etc. She had bloodwork last week to check for Kidney function and that actually went well. Vet said the numbers went down a bit and as long as the meds are not effecting the kidney function she will now stay on them. We'll know better after the EKG today. I have been preparing myself for her end since whe got the diagnosis 2 1/2 years ago. I like you was devasted. I have to say I know some might not agree but I think I would rather her go when the time comes by sudden death. I just don't know if I could watch her suffer and make a decision to let her go. For know we just love her and spoil her even more than before. My DH gets jealous and says he thinks the world revolves around the Queen Marine. But I catch him loving her just as much as me and my two sons (11 & 15yrs). I think what helps me is knowing that at least my baby will have had a wonderful life filled with love and spoiling unlike alot of the furbabies I see come through the rescue I volunteer with. In a way her sick heart made mine bigger. We ended up adopting through rescue because of all the furkids out there that don't have the great spoiled life she does. Her brother Caspian now has the life a royalty and I'm sure that after she passes I will adopt another to give them the love they deserve. Good Luck and just enjoy and love her as long as you have her.
