Daisy starts out on her big bed in our bedroom, then usually gets in our bed around 4am when she gets cold. If we call her up on the bed before we go to sleep, she will always get down and go to her bed.

How long can you leave the puppy in crate before he needs to pee etc?
As i will be out of the house for up to 6hours etc.. should I only crate when I am home? any advice welcome???
I know, this is the tough part. What I would recommend in this case is get him a big enough crate where he can relieve himself in one end, and sleep in the other. Put a carboard barrier in between the crate that he has to go through. It's technically the same crate, but he will see it as "going outside" his space. I think once he is 16 weeks or so, he can hold it for the 6 six hours and you can remove the barrier. You will have to see how it goes and adjust his ability to hold it. Make sure the first thing you do as soon as you get home is let him outside. If you can find someone to come home and let him out, that would be ideal, if not try that

Our dogs use to sleep with us in a queen bed- it got to be too much. so now we go to bed around 9:30 and let them cuddle with us then they go to their beds on our floor. they usually wake up around 5 am and crawl in bed with us. which i love. it is a nice way to start the day. and we can get a good nights sleep with out paws pushing in our backs. Maggie likes to lay her head on my neck which is nice at first but gets really uncomfortable after a while.
