Not being as regular to the boards these days is hard, but its even harder when a post like this is the first I read after many days away from BW. I am so sorry for your Rena, and for you for having to brave through something like this. I hope she can stay as happy and comfortable as possible in the times to come... dont look to the negative, look to the positive of spending happy quality time with your girl till the end.... and even then, you wont say goodbye, just "see ya later" cuz you know she'll be waiting for you on the other side.

Chin up and hig and kiss your Rena from me and Harley!

Thank you all!

Reading all of your wonderful replies has made me tearful, but happy! I know a lot of you out there know what I'm feeling and that is of some comfort. Every morning when I wake up and she's still here is a blessing.

The only downfall to loving the boxer...their lives are very fragile! Even with all the illness, there is no other dog I'd ever want. :)

Thanks for all your kindness and support!!!

I`m so very sorry to hear the news of your baby. I too have been in this same situation. I wondered if I was wondering and struggled with making a decision while my rescue girl Brandy deterioated before me. She was in no pain, but all of a sudden one day within a 24 hour period her health drastically changed. I knew at that point it was time. I did not want her to suffer so I helped her to heaven. Brandy lost control of her bowels and started to have mild seizures within the last 24 hours. Her health declined fairly gradual and quickly for two weeks and then her body started to fail. I miss her terribly for she was by far the absolute best rescue Boxer girl at the age of 10 that anybody could have asked for. They say the dog will tell you when its time so God be with you when the time comes. May the last words she heres being you telling her how much you love her.

Praying for miracles here! and keeping you in my thoughts!

I am very sad to read this thread of your and your baby girl Rena's situation. My heart goes out to you, and lots of loving vibes from Grunt and me. Even though I don't personally know what it is like to go through what you are going through, I imagine what it must be like for you, and that is painful. We all love our boxer babies so much. You are doing the best you can for her, and she sounds like one super-loved boxer girl. Take care. Grunt sends big hugs and smooshy kisses to Rena and her mom.

My heart and thoughts are with you and Rena. You are both blessed to have each other in your lives. Take care and here's hoping some healing vibes come your way.

What tragic news. I really hope that you have some good days to come with her, enjoy every minute of them. And when the time comes, Rena will be happy that she has a master who loves her enough to make the right decision not to let her suffer.
