HEY!! Maybe we could transport him via CUR to someone who could adopt him! I know California to Ohio is a long way, but.... boxer lovers are determined people!!!!!!

Does anyone know what time it is in California?

It could be that no Californian boxer lovers are awake or logged on the internet yet so that's why there isn't a queue of people wanting to save him.

I wish there was a quick way of putting the word out in California in the hope that a home (even if it's temporary) could be found.

If I don't hear anything by the end of today (it's 15:42 local time on 12 July here) I know I won't be able to sleep tonight for worrying about that poor dog.

It will be such a waste if he gets put down (I'm trying desperately not to think of all the other dogs that get put down or I will be too upset to do anything) as boxers make such wonderful companions.

I'm still keeping everything crossed.

I emailed the shelter too...to see if we can buy him some more time. I'm anxiously awaiting their response!!!

Deb I was just getting ready to post the same thing. I emailed 3 shelters in Calif. in hopes that one of them could help out. I am also trying to talk a friend in to driving 3 hours to get him. I think that if we all put our hearts in it like we are we WILL find a home for this little guy

Ok I'm working on this end to do what I can. i'm in California. But I'm 3 hours from Bakersfield. Unfortunately I will not be able to get there til this weekend. If we can convince thenm to wait I can go get him. Unfortunately I can't keep him I asked and it requires another deposit where I live and another monthly fee which I can't afford right now. My sister in law said she would hold him if anyone is interested and then we can send him where he needs to go. I just recently moved so I don't have money for all the fees and all. Let me know what i should do. I really want to help. We have a boxer bash on Saturday I'll see if they want to help. Let me know.

We'll have to make sure this thread stays at the top of the board to ensure that our friends in California see it as soon as they log on.

I hope our efforts aren't in vain. I will be up all night trying to find ways of helping him. The only idea I've had is to try and contact a Californian TV news network to ask them to publicise this story in the hope that people will come forward to rescue him.

This sometimes happens over here when an animal has been in Battersea dogs home for years and years for example and the national newspapers will show a picture and that dog is guaranteed a good home by the end of the day.

I've emailed the Bakersfield Chamber of commerce in the hope that they can give me the details of the best people to contact but I don't know if it will do any good.
