dog who suffered horrible mutilation needs home

This was an email passed to me - if anyone thinks they can help this poor dog please contact EDITED, Tracy Frank.

Here is all the informaiton I have, this is a heartbreaking story. This dog is located in Texas.

Subject: dog who suffered horrible mutilation needs home

Many of you may have heard last March about Reno, a Boxer whose tongue was deliberately cut out in South Texas. He recovered and is doing well, but because of the special care he now requires, his guardian is no longer willing to keep him... He must be kept cool at all times because he can't pant. He requires a nutritionally dense canned food that is somewhat expensive and, although he is learning to drink from a spigot, he must have
water squirted down his throat several times a day with a syringe, taking care that he doesn't aspirate any into his lungs. He is about 2 years old and an active, healthy dog. He has endured the torture of having his tongue cut out, the never-ending problems of drinking and eating with no tongue and not being able to pant or lick as other dogs do, and now he is facing being killed, simply because his care entails a little work. If anyone can help Reno out, please contact Tracy Frank,
EDITED. Thanks,

That is sick and I hadn't heard anything about it. I am sure there is someone out there with a big enough heart to help this guy out. Can the local news do a small segment on this guy and a plea for his life. It seems that many animals in need featured on TV turn up sometimes hundreds of people wanting to adopt them. Best of luck and please keep us posted.

We have talked to SARA about adopting Reno. We are determined to help him out. I have no problem personally driving down to San Antonio to get him (we live in Illinois).

I have not been able to sleep since I have read this story. The person that did this to Reno should have his or her tongue cut out to see how much pain and suffering that the big guy has gone through.

I am very determined to getting Reno into our family. We already are "angels" to three boxers. One had mange real bad, one was starving to death and was a walking skeleton when we got her, and the other one we adopted from Iowa.

We also have a Black German Shepard that only had days before she was going to be "put down".

Reno will be mine even if it cost me a bunch of money and time.

Kudos to the judge that gave the "idiot" in CA that threw that little dog into traffic during road rage. He received three years in prison for cruelty to animals.

Now if we could just get more judges to do the same to parents of children that abuse and neglect their children.

Sorry for the "preaching"!!

Have a great day and I will keep you updated!

Horayyyyyyyyy and thank the Lord for people like you steve. I was just sitting here with tears in my eyes reading the story, and all the replys, and oh what joy when I read your reply about being determined to go get that poor guy, I agree with everything you said, can't believe there are such horrible people out there in the world. I would like to be God for just one day and look down on those people, don't think I would have his kind of mercy, God Bless you Steve

This makes me sick. What kind of scum would do this to an innocent animal? I want to come face to face with him. Just me him and a pair of sissors.

Steve, You are awesome. Please let me know if you are able to get him. I want to send you a donation to help with his transport and special food needs.

Thanks so much for all of the great support! appicon
We are anxiously waiting to see if we are going to be the lucky ones to adopt Reno! He is all that has been on our minds since Friday night when I read the post, with tears in my eyes.
We have already told his brother and sisters about him:LOL:

We are wondering if there is a website that we could go to for equipment for dogs with special needs. Since these sick and disgusting dog fights still go on, then I am sure there are other people out there with this situation. We thought maybe someone had come up with some kind of watering device he could learn to bite on or something.

We are in communication with Reno's foster parents, Melissa and Garrett. They are working with the local media to bring attention to this situation in hopes of bring public attention to this sick "sport" :)mad: I am sure the perverted individuals call it that)!! Dog fighting needs to be eliminated!!!!!!smashicon
