Almeter,

First of all-Welcome to Boxerworld!fiestaicon I love coming here and reading all of the hilarious things that our boxers do the exact same way! We boxer parents are so loyal. (and of course, Owned by our babies!

I totally agree with you, the main thing is that Reno go to a good home, and that is all we all want. We talked to Melissa tonight, and got the names of your local news stations, and we were able to pull up Reno's story with actual video footage with him in it, so we were able to see him running around playing. It was so cool!

I can imagin the people of San Antonio are outraged! I guess I was dumb enough to think that dog fighting didn't go on like that anymore. . I just know that it has brought alot of attention to the utter stupidity and cruelty of it and we all want it stopped!smashicon

God Bless You!!

This story has truly touched my heart. I am a new to this website and check it on a daily basis. I have to admit, I cried when I read this. I am not really sure if my tears were caused from sadness of the pain Reno went through or tears of joy...for there are people out there that will fill the remaining years of his life with joy.

Steve and Becky, you are god sent!! Please keep us all posted, for I can't wait to hear when Reno gets to arrive home.

Also, is there an address to send donations to help out with his medical care or to assist in the purchase of equipment?

The check is in the mail! ;)

Hope all is going well in your house hold. How are the troops getting along? Are you managing ok with Reno's care? Were you able to find his special food locally? When will you be posting a picture of him and the crew? I sure would like another update. Thanks guys!

Wonderful People!

When Steve and I read the article about Reno and decided to adopt him, we had no idea the response that we would get from everyone here at Boxer World, our friends and family, and the communities (San Antonio and Galesburg). We have had tremendous support!cool2icon I am very glad that we have because it reassures your faith that there are great people in the world. I have felt so angry and ashamed of some of the people that walk the planet to hurt other living beings. We just want to do what we can to help!
Reno (I have nicknamed him Reno-Beano!) is doing wonderfully! He gets along with everyone. His brother Joey is his best friend, they play ALL the time. In the last few days we have seen him become more comfortable with us, as he is started to become protective of the house, and is turning into a cuddler! He loves to sleep with us! Here are some pics of the handsome boy!!

Marisa, Thank you so very much for your response. Reno is a great dog. It was one of the most exciting and rewarding thing I have done in my entire life. My wife, Becky, and my son, Matt, would make the 19 hour drive again in a heartbeat. We plan on doing it again if the a----les that did this are caught. We would love to put some peanut butter on the privates of the individuals that did this to him and let Reno get his revenge plus some. I think that we could even charge an admission for the show and donate it to SARA, where we adopted Reno from. I truly think that people would pay to see it. Sorry for getting a little wound up, but it still pi--es me off !!! Thanks again and God Bless You.

You are terrific!

To Reno's Parents

I have been busy and away from Boxerworld for a while. I just started reading in the rescue and adoption forums and became totally involved in your story about Reno. I think everyone here has said everything there is to say regarding how special your family really is. I just wanted to personally say this big scary world of ours needs more people like you

Reno's story makes my gut ache with sadness--I cannot begin to comprehend what goes through somebody's mind to do such an aweful act of cruelty. It is beyond my world. I feel like I live such a sheltered life here in Northern Canada and I shared this view in recent posting in the rescue forum. I never knew to the extent at which Boxers(or any animal) are abused or neglected until I found the world of the internet and starting researching this. I have to boxers of whom I can say are living like kings, but nothing compares to where Reno came from and what he has now! During your Thanksgiving time of year, you truly have many things to be thankful for, number 1 being your hearts!

Kaycee an Atlas send Reno and his family big hugs and kisses from Canada!

I think it's wonderful Steve that Reno has someone like you to look forward to. Although I know there are lots of good people out there, but it takes that specail person to take in a dog like Reno. Right on!

Well I can't say what i'd do to that weak, no guts person if ever came face to face with it; Just don't let me be carrying scissors at the time.

My fur-babies send a big hug and a big thanks for looking out after Reno needs:

Travis, Jake, Brandy, "Boo" (over the rainbow bridge) angelicon"
and soon to be Scooter my new white puppy male comming home 12/14/01. partyicon
