Subject: dog who suffered horrible mutilation needs home
Many of you may have heard last March about Reno, a Boxer whose tongue was deliberately cut out in South Texas. He recovered and is doing well, but because of the special care he now requires, his guardian is no longer willing to keep him... He must be kept cool at all times because he can't pant. He requires a nutritionally dense canned food that is somewhat expensive and, although he is learning to drink from a spigot, he must have
water squirted down his throat several times a day with a syringe, taking care that he doesn't aspirate any into his lungs. He is about 2 years old and an active, healthy dog. He has endured the torture of having his tongue cut out, the never-ending problems of drinking and eating with no tongue and not being able to pant or lick as other dogs do, and now he is facing being killed, simply because his care entails a little work. If anyone can help Reno out, please contact Tracy Frank,
