Good News!!!
Hi all!
We finally got to see the vet today and he said that YES, Ginger's mass has shrunk considerably (even visably) since we've started the steroid treatment! I pointed out the areas that I was concerned about near her hip (where I thought the mass may have spread), he said it was the curve of her pelvis that I was feeling, due to muscle atrophy. He reassured me, it was nothing for me to worry about. I had noticed the muscle decreasing in her leg, but hadn't thought about it possibly being as high as her pelvis.
He feels pretty good about how she is doing. He thinks that even if the mass doesn't go away completely (which is kinda what I expect), at least we seem to have stopped it's progression. He even commented that she is bearing more weight on her leg than the last time he saw her!
I feel like I'm on cloud nine! I know we'll still have some bad days, and the problem certainly isn't gone, but the treatments are doing what they are supposed to do.
My little "grey-faced fighter" is FIGHTING!!!! I'll help her fight as long as she wants to!!
Thank you all, again, for your hugs and kisses and kind words of support through this all. We couldn't have made it this far without you! You all are helping Ginger fight this too! I tell her she has lots of new friends while I deliver the hugs and kisses you send her! She loves it! And Dexter loves all the extra attention too! He is so great with her!
Please give your babies an extra hug and kiss from us, and hug yourselves too! We hope everything is happy and HEALTHY with you all!
