Ginger's update.

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry it's taken a while to post Ginger's update. We were scheduled to go to the vet last Friday, but I went ahead and took her on Thursday, because I was noticing some changes. It seemed like the mass was developing on the outside of her knee. The vet said it was. The one on the inside is still very stable, so we went ahead and cut her steroid dose back again. I have been watching her leg closely (but also trying not to check it too much) and things again seem to be stable. There is only a small amount of new growth on the outside of her knee.

She is taking the steroid once a day, every other day, and as I said things are stable again. I have to admit I was afraid when we cut the dose that things would start changing again, but they haven't. I guess I was a little afraid to post until I knew how she was doing with the new dose.

So it's still a good report!! And the best news of all, she played with me Sunday night for a few minutes! She seemed like she felt really good all day, and the next thing I knew she was dropping her ball in my lap, asking me to toss it for her!

I think we'll be going back for another check up this week, even though the vet said we could go about 10 days between visits. I guess we'll just take it day by day.

Melanie, I'm so glad to hear that Ginger continues to do well. I used to always check Cadence's lumps and I'd always ask my fiance if they were bigger. I used to drive him nuts! Now I look at Colby and ask if he thinks something's wrong so I guess it's just a mommy thing! Keep up the good work! You're doing a great job with her!

I am very glad to hear that Ginger is still getting good reports from the vet and that she is starting to be a little like herself again. I am very happy for the both of you and I hope that things continue to get better every day. I know it has been a long hard road for you and Ginger. It is refreshing to hear some good news. Hi all...

I just wanted to let everyone know that Ginger is still doing ok. Not many significant changes, but we haven't been able to get to the vet for a checkup. Last Monday when I was supposed to take her, my vet was volunteering at the hurricane pet shelter, so we didn't get to see him. And I work for an ambulance service, so work has been insane, and I haven't been able to get time off to take her. But we're hoping to go this week.

Ginger and Dexter send everyone big wet kisses!!! And we hope everyone and their families is (are) well. My hugs to everyone! We're still here, just a little bit busy lately!
