Completely Boxer Crazy
Josi says "hi boxerworld buddies"!!!! She is doing well tonight and when I took her for a short walk late this afternoon, she did not want to come home, but mommy had to be the bad one and send us home b/c she was panting a little. She does seem to be noticably losing some weight which is sad because I know it is the cancer eating away at her. She was down to 55lbs. last Saturday when she was weighed and before her spleen ruptured she was a lean mean healthy machine at around 65lbs. She actually looks like she did in her teen years when she grew up but not out yet. I told her that her tplo surgeons would probably be happy she is such a "skinny minny" now since all they stressed to us was to keep any extra lbs off those legs. We have continued with 20mgs. of prednisone and she is doing well. We are giving her six meals a day plus snack times and she seems to be doing well with that since her belly doesn't have to go too long before the next meal, but she definitely lets those whines out when she wants more. It kills me that this is happening to her and I know that not even a miracle can change things. I continue to try to stay positive every minute of the day, but today for some reason was a hard one for me. Those awful thoughts of how will I go on when she is gone slip into my head and it just bring me to tears. I know I just need to be thankful for all the extra days we have had and all the ones we will have and for now that is enough to keep me going. Well I better get back to kitchen and finish cooking for her, but thanks again for checking in on us and I will post again tomorrow
