Completely Boxer Crazy
Josi has done well over the weekend and is walking around more and better. She even decided yesterday it was time to re-acquaint herself with her throne (wooden day sofa that is in our sunroom that Josi took over as hers from the day we brought it home from the store 3 years ago). I had to help her back legs up a little bit, but she was more than happy to try on her own. Her incision is still quite oozie, but does seem to be healing although I can't imagine that they will be able to remove all the staples on Wednesday. As far as the "other situation" goes, we have currently stopped her dry kibble and opted to homecook for her do avoid the obvious carbs in her dry food. We are supplementing with the Budwig diet which is cottage cheese and flaxseed oil 3xday and she loves it and last night I made her a recipe called cancer-be-gone. She has been getting spoiled evenmore if that is possible and has been repaying us with countless slobbery boxer kisses...now if we could only get that nub wagging. Speaking of that, I need to place a call to the dr. tomorrow and see if we should refill her gabapentin or if they want test her tail pain w/out..I will keep you all posted.

Keep it up Josie

Have just gotten back online with boxerworld since Feb. We lost our 6 year old boxer yesterday morning after finding him on the floor Christmas morning and taking him to our local RURAL vet. After a run by us up to a city 120 miles away to get some blood for a transfusion and back in record time his blood pal went from 2-3 the next day , he fought so hard but wasn't able to get the treatment he needed so badly in our very small town, what I am hoping to say is not about our loss but to hope you and I am sure you do that you are SO fortunate to live where you have such wonderful medical care available to you and your beloved dog, if ours could have had half a chance we believe he would be with us today. In the end we still dont know what was actually wrong with him other then the severe anemia. Our prayers are with you and so happy your baby is on the road to recovery !

Austin's Mom

I'm glad to hear Josi is holding her own! When Austin had his surgery they told us to take a warm washcloth and gently hold it over the incision. That would help to draw out the drainage and would also help him feel better. Maybe you can give it a try for Josi.
