Josi is doing well today...her incision is still oozing a bit, but it appears like the fluid is going down. We just came in from taking a little nap outside, ofcourse I couldn't sleep, I feel like I have to inspect and rub every inch of her body for fear of forgetting some day. I have made her walk around the house twice since 1pm so far and although she doesn't seem to love me for doing it at first, it does appear to brighten her spirits after. The second time I showed her that I put chicken in her food bowl and she literally got herself up and began to start her trek...I had to quickly run over to put the sling under her for balance. I then decided to hold a piece of chicken and walk her around to entice her which worked well also, but probably better with two people b/c I think she was trying to tell her back legs to jump up. She is now taking a nap, guess that work out wore her out. So I decided to email her oncologist from NCState to let her know what is going on and see if she has advice. I explained to her that I would much rather bring her there, but I just think it will be too much on her right now with her FCE recovery. At the very least I am hoping that she will consult with the oncologist here since they apparently worked together at State and tell me what she thinks is best for Josi.

Glad to hear Josi is doing well today. It's funny you say you're rubbing her to remember every single inch. I find myself staring at Austin trying to do the same thing.

I did the same with Harley. I touched and rubbed, kissed and hugged him all over as I also did not want to forget. I must have done it thourougly because neither my friend's nor my sister's boxer feels the same at all. I'm sure Josi can feel the love flow through her when you touch her that way.

I can really hear the sadness and dispare in your last post. Hang in there, you are doing all you possibly can for her.

Josi is doing really good today...she has gotten up on her own to walk to the bed, over to her food bowl in the kitchen, and to lay by the front door.:) She almost walks like she is drunk which is the best way to describe it, but it brings tears of joy to my eyes! I told you all that I had emailed her oncologist from NCState yesterday regarding her condition and I can't believe she already replied...she is such a kind, wonderful doctor. I would love to cut and paste her email, but I don't know if that is ok on this board. If any of you know, let me know and I will post it. I also have my local vet contacting a hollistic vet he knows in georgia to discuss Essiac tea and IP-6 supplementation that Brian and I read up on alot last night on many cancer boards. Any familiarity with those would be greatly appreciated as well. Sadly it is pouring rain here today so it doesn't look like we will get to lay outside since the princess HATES the rain.

I am so glad to hear that Josi is improving with each day! It is also great that you are getting really good cooperation with your local vet and with the oncologist.
