mosquitoes, I have a real phopia about these annoying little ********, I can not sleep at night unless I plug in the repellant thingy. Once I got biten on the eye and my face was so swollen my son said that I looked like elephant man. If we go to eat anywhere outside I have to cover myself in repellant and take more with me.

Another one is swimmimg in the sea, if we happen to go to a beach that I am not familiar with I will not swim, I do I know what type of fish/creatures are in there.

I am phobiaphobic (sp?). Which basically means: I have a fear of the fear.

I am a sufferer of anxiety (panic attacks), & have been for the past 14yrs.

I scare myself into the panic that you feel when you see your spider, or moth, or swim in the dark sea etc. Only with me there is nothing there to scare me.

Mind tricks.

So I will avoid all places, or things that I feel will make me panic. And so the world becomes a smaller place for me.

I will avoid places that I cannot escape easily from eg. lifts, areoplanes, hairdressers etc.

When you have a panic attack in one place you have to remove yourself from that place. Afterwards you no longer want to go to that place, coz if you do you tell yourself that you will panic there, & so you do, coz you have placed that in your mind.

It's a vicious cycle.

You have one too many panic attacks & you end up living life waiting for the next one to come - Fear of the fear.

That's me! :(

Clowns definetly. And string puppets make me physically ill. I almost left the theater when the the puppet scene came on in the Sound of Music. When I was cleaning out my husband's stuff I opened a box and it was full of string puppets. I couldn't run to the dumpster fast enough. I'd been living with those things in my house for 17 years!!!!

Wow, it is really interesting (and some are a bit funny) to read the phobias everyone has! I have one that no one else has that I have seen. EELS! I hate Eels! Not like they are something that I would encounter every day, but we keep fish and shop at the fish store regularly and when I see one in a tank I just shudder, their faces and teeth creep me out. DH loves to point them out to me... Or when we go to zoos or aquariums I avoid them like the plague, but sometimes they will be in tanks with other fish that I enjoy looking at and one will peek out of a cave of something and make me squeal! YUCK!!
Also, WATER... It is wierd and irrational, I know, but I have a fear of going off a bridge and not being able to get out of the car (the scariest thoughts I have are of having it happen with my son in the car and not being able to save him). I love the great lakes, but won't go out over my head, and I will NOT go past maybe my waist in the ocean. Sometimes I do ok and then other times I panic and just have to get out of the water, whether it be a pool or a body of water.

Spiders and closed in spaces. My fear of closed in spaces goes so far that I cannot even wear turtlenecks or anything up around my neck..I swear I feel like I'm choking and can't breath. That's how I feel when I get shut in anything. IF and a big IF I ride an elevator it has to be quick and there isn't any question who's standing by the door. :)

You ready?!

Are you ready for my list?! lol
Birds, turtles, horses, rabbits, cows, lizards, frogs, toads, hights, the dark, small spaces, Death, snakes, moths, roaches, bugs period, spiders....must I go on?

Everyone laughs about birds and horses and rabbits. Birds can peck you eye out and poop on your head. Have you ever seen a horses teeth! They are HUGE (better to bite you with my dear) and their feet will nock ya into the next county. Rabbits are mean little poopers. You try to pick em up and they bite and kick.

I do LOVE rats and hampsters and all those though. I am kinda strange!!!

They totally freak me out. I won't even attempt to kill one since they jump all over the freaking place.
I recently went to vist my friend in Kentucy and she had these things all over her house. I was so freaked out and had to call her or her BF to kill them every time. absolutely disgusting.

How could I have forgotten crickets!? We lived in Southern California for three years and they were everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Thank God we don't have many here. When we're at Petsmart or any place like that I'm scared to death when we go near the little lizard tanks. Even though they're enclosed, there are always a few hopping around nearby. Eeeeeeek.

Now I've got major goosebumps.

For me its heights. The thought of climbing a ladder makes my knees turn into jello. I like my feet firmly on the ground.
