I hate butterflies or moths...in fact anything insect like with wings!! They always seem to want to use me as target practice...EEEKKKK!! I am getting goosepimples just thinking about it...We have butterfly gardens in England where they breed all kinds of these monsters....some are really big....fancy paying to go into somewhere like that, just to have them crawl all over you.... :eek:YUK!!!!

Ugh! I feel exactly the same way! Years ago I was on the phone with my husband and there was a gigantic moth flying around our apartment. I was screaming and telling him that it was "divebombing me." He thought it was so hilarious, he teased me for years about that moth. It truly makes me panic though. I hate when summer comes around and there are moths hovering around the porch lights. I either leave the lights off or I run into the house with speeds that only moths can inspire in me. *Shivers*

NUNS!!!! at least they don't fly,...maybe it's all that black clothing that puts you off, they always have an evil nun in a horror film though,...I don't think you're weird, they do look kinda scary and unreal, especially in the full habit!..I swear I saw the ghost of one once, and it scared the hell out of me.....I run so fast I must have broken some kind of record...but maybe it was one glass of wine too many

You guys are cracking me up!!!!! I don't have any phobias, just don't like snakes. I have killed a few just because I am afraid they might bite or something with the dogs and kids around. Keep em coming, this is good!!!!

Social phobia in certain situations with certain people. My mind goes blank and i don't have anything interesting to say. Have a hard time concentrating on what others say as well. Sure they think I'm stuck up and unarticulated because that's probably the only impression they can get at these occasions. Mostly it's with my husband's collegues and friends. He is decades older than me and is distinguished in his field of profession. I thought of this before we married but I was in love and didn't imagine how hard it would be having most people either looking very far down on you, or patronizing or feeling sorry for you. Are there any others here who married "over the class borders"?
The family I grew up in was also judgmental beyond all limits which doesn't help. It's a constant struggle breaking down this sick psychological indoctrination.

One of my worst fears is drowning. I don't have any problems being in water (ocean or pool), or even in a boat out in the water. But I HATE HATE HATE driving on a bridge over water. My sister lives in Cattawba (up on the shore of lake erie). Anyway, whenever we go to visit her, we have to go across this mile-long bridge thats over the bay, and it freaks me out everytime. Especially during the snowy/winter months. And of course, my loving BF always has to "pretend" he can't control the car, and will start heading for the gaurd-rail. Ugh! FREAKS me out!

I don't think I have any realt phobias but I am scared of falling backwards and fire. I can sit around a camp fire just fine but if someone starts horsin' around I get freaked out. I am scared to death of my house burning down. I think it is because my 3 brothers who died before I was born, died in a house fire.

I hate clowns!! They scare me to death!!!!!

OMG me too, clowns freak me out no end. Probably from watching 'It' the Stephen King book/movie. Pennywise the clown, brrr, horrible.

I also have a phobia about cotton wool, just typing that word in has seriously made me shudder. I work in a school and if any of the craft sessions involve it the teachers know NOT to get me involved. I can't touch it for all the tea in China.
I need therapy don't I?

I am terrified of moving trains and deer. If i"m driving down the road and see deer on the move I will literally start freaking out. I"ve never hit one but I think that's what I'm afraid of. ANd there are tons of train wrecks here, so probably why i'm afraid of them. Theyr'e ok if they're just sitting on the tracks not moving. But if I pull up the the tracks and see the lights flashing I freak out, especially if a car is behind me and I can't back up to get away.
