Thanks...

Hi Allison, and everyone else!
I'm doing okay, but I am still very sad, and depressed.
I still have the task of picking up his ashes which I already know is going to be very difficult.
I'm having a mental problem with Orson in a small box.
I will keep you posted!

Thanks for caring!

He's not in there. That box holds nothing more than his "clothes". A dog's fur and bones are simply the boundaries that contain his spirit while he enjoys his time here in the mortal world. Once his spirit gets called home, his body stays behind as it's made up of things from this world and is no longer needed beyond the gates of heaven.

When I got back the ashes from my dear chihuahua (he passed away at age 14 on 7/14/02), I kept a bit of bone and a bit of tooth and put them under a rock in my garden... near one of his favorite sunning spots. The rest I scattered at a park where he spent some of his last healthy days running through the fields.

I truly believe that dogs have such short lives compared to ours because God can't stand to be away from them for that long. He sends their spirits down to learn things that can only be discovered here on Earth, then calls them home for a long snuggle on a comfy cloud and listens to their stories of how they spent their time.

That was so beautiful and true and my "Boxerworld Faucet" has just opened up, yet again. What a nice way to think of such a difficult thing.

thoughts...

Today I had to write a thank you letter to the Veterinarian Onclolgist Dr Ann Jeglum for pushing so hard, and trying when other gave up.
The letter was painful to write, and the card was hard to fill out.

I was going to send a thank you card sooner, but I felt it was too painful, and boy was I ever right!
I had to stop writing several times, and kept starting over again.

I enclosed some laminated cards my mom got for me with A Prayer for Pets, I want to give some to the people here, so if anyone needs one, please e-mail me your name and address, and I will be happy to send you one.

I still haven't picked up the ashes yet.
I won't be spreading them anywhere, rather I have decided that they shall be buried with me upon my death.
I feel as though I should take with me the greatest possession I will ever possess.
I will be blessed to be put to rest with such great company.
It has been amended to my will.

Thanks to everyone for the continued support, and encouragment, it's not any easier now than before, as a matter of fact it's more difficult now because I miss him more now than I did when he died.

I miss my puppy, we were so happy in our silly little life.

Oh Jeff, I am very sorry about Orson. I have no words of comfort because I really don't know what to say. Do not hold your pain inside, let it go.... burst out, do not keep it inside because sooenr or later it comes out twice harder. Orson is your guardian angel now angelicon

Jeff,
I cry every time I read your messages, (and I am at work) Everything you say is how I feel about my baby. It's just so amazing how attached we get.
I would love to hear the prayer to our pets.
I wish you strength to get through this, Please know you are always in my prayers..
Hang in there and stay strong...

Pictures...

I have finally gotten some pictures uploaded, and hopefully they will be in the members sections soon, just waiting for approval.
Let me know what you think!
I am going to get some more next week, I have one last disposable camera with recent photos that are very sad, but I know I will share a couple.

I plan on launching a website in the next month as an Orson momorial, but also a source for information about cancer, and animal rights issues that I hope everyone will check out.
I will keep you all posted, when the site is up and running I will announce it in the forum

Jeff
