My heart goes out to you

Jeff what could I possibly say to make you feel any better :(
I've been reading all your threads and following up on Orson's health, and I, just as others on here, had been praying for him. He was a fighter Jeff, and he fought until he could fight no more. I'm sitting here in tears because Orson had found his way into my heart and it hurts me so bad to know he has passed, I could only imagine how greater your pain must be. You did do everything you could for him, and you could find peace and comfort in knowing that he is in a better place right now, running free with other babies in rainbow bridge. When you feel overwhelmed by pain just know that he is there looking down on you wiggling his little stubb nubb just waiting for your reunion.

My heart goes out to you and God bless Orson angelicon

Jeff,
I try to stay away from the Rainbow Bridge thread b/c I can't handle the pain. But I've been following you and Orson the whole time and I am truly sorry for your beloved Orson. He gave a great fight and you gave your all. Don't ever second guess your actions. You will only hurt yourself more. I couldn't get through all othe posts b/c I am crying. I don't know what to expect when I have to be in your shoes with my 2 babies. Like you and all the members here my husband and I have furbabies that are our children and many people don't understand and look at us funny but you know what I don't care. They are our children and always be. I know how much you are hurting and just know that Orson knew how much you loved him and you did everything for him. He is waiting for you and would want you to be happy and remember all of the great times you both had. Stay strong and take careof your self.
God speed Orson

Jeff - it's taken me days to get through this thread. I usually check into BW while at work, and I can only go through so many tissues before people start noticing....

I wish I had the words to make you feel better, but all I can offer is the knowledge that time will ease your grief.

You have our deepest sympathies and our greatest respect for devoting every ounce of your energy, time and love to Orson when he needed you most.

He is in good company at the Bridge and I'm sure he'll be pointing you out through the clouds to all his new buddies... "that's MY Dad", he'll say (as his chest swells with pride and love), "he's the best Dad ever. I wish I didn't have to leave him behind, but I know he'll be here soon enough and until then, where's that steak tree you've all been talking about?" angelicon

Hugs to you and your family.

God bless you, Jeff. You have got to be one of the most thoughtful, sensitive and caring guys I have ever heard of. Your posts bring tears to my eyes. Please know we all care about you and send all our prayers and love with Orson. Isn't it amazing how these wonderful animals touch our lives, if only for a little while (too little!). You were both blessed that you found each other in this world and I hope that brings some comfort to you.

Gloria...

Gloria,
Your post brought tears to my eyes, and I thank you for what you wrote.
It is a week ago today, and it hurts so deeply, and on so many different levels.
this is the longest I have ever been away from Orson, and it's making me insane because he isn't coming home.

I wrote a little message to Orson in a notebook, and would like to share it here...

*****To my Orson puppy, my life will never be the same without you, you changed me, and you changed my life, I found everything in your eyes, and no matter how much times passes until that day we meet again, I will love you, as you have loved me. You were and always will be the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and now that you're gone, I remember all that you were, and still are, and for the rest of my life I will always look forward to the day you greet me at the gates, and we can walk together into eternity...Always in my heart*****

I am writing a poem to Orson that I will post soon.
It's just very difficult to say goodbye, when I all I want it to have him back again.
His foot prints are still on a patch of snow in the yard, and I cry everytime I see it, his tree in the yard he always used to scrach his back with constantly reminds me of him.

I dunno, it's just so difficult to accept this, and coming here, and writing, and reading all the wonderful posts keep him alive to me, but I can't keep posting forever...I guess the reality is really closing in on me...I just don't want to let go yet...I need keep him close for right now...I know everyone here understands that, and I know everyone here also understands that Boxers are quite different from other dogs...Don't get me wrong here, all dogs are great in their own way, but boxers are just a little more human than most, and it's that quality, in addition to their ability to convey their feelings through their eyes, and faces, and movemets make them (literally) children, and not just a pet...Orson wasn't a pet, he was my child, he was my friend, and he was my constant source of happiness. When my cat of 8 years died I was very upset, and it hurt, but nothing hurt as bad as losing Orson...I guess I am just saying that he was and always will be a little person to me, and that has literally made this a tragedy.

One last thing on this for now is Dr. B, who is the family friend and veteriarian told me yesterday that he wasn't able to put Orson to sleep for me because it would have been too difficult for him to handle it.
The boy sure made a lot of great friends.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for all the wonderful posts!
Jeff

:( I am so very sorry for your loss...Orson sounds like he was one in a million.

In my life I have been blessed enough to be loved 3 very special boxers that have now gone to the bridge. My first passed in his sleep and the last 2 I had to have put down. When my last was put down I remember being so angry and sad...in fact I start yelling at the vet & tech because my baby was lying on the floor and I wanted him picked up immediately. Of course this made no sense since that is where he usually was during the day. Everyone understood that it was the grief speaking and not me. Never second guess your actions...what you did for Orson was both brave and loving. He is free from the pain of a body that could no longer keep up with his demands. After Rocky II was put down I was so afraid to love again. My brother Steve was recently lost to me by violence and after much grief my husband saw I needed something. So now almost 2 years after Rocky II left I am a new Mom to Rocky III who gives me so much unconditional love I can almost feel the healing inside of me. When it is right it will happen for you too.

Godspeed to you Orson in the loving guidance & care of Rocky I, Rocky II & Zoe all with nubs wiggling a welcome.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
