I have said it once I will say it again. I could not live up North. I was born in raised in Dallas and I think it is to cold when it gets down to 30 out. But look on the bright side it does not get up to 110 in the summer.
Think warm happy thought. I have no suggestion on how to get warm.
Maybe you could let her run in your garage. Unless that is full of cars. It would be cold but no wind.

Here's the deal: IT DOES get up to 100 + in the summer! We get both extremes ;) . Except out in the prairies we dont' get the humidity, but I know for sure you do in Ontario.... Crazy canucks we are, putting up with all this weird weather!

Well its not as bad here but Im not used to it, it was 14 degrees today and I thought I was going to die. The girls dont seem to mind but I do. Gary is from Michagin so he is used to it. I cant stand it, I have lived here, and Florida and dont like the cold. It snowed here for the first time in a while and I dont like it. I refused to leave the house although Gary made me, told me I need to build up my tolerence if we are going to be moving to MI. Dear Lord help me. I HATE THE COLD. And Im moving to MI, someone shoot me.

My fellow Ontarians...I have to walk to several places today. If you hear anything on the news about ice sculptures in Cornwall along the roadside, do not be alarmed! It's only me and my son and I imagine we will begin to thaw in late March!! :p
It's soooo cold, Spirit is not even staying outside! And Xena...she squats to the point of almost sitting when she pees!! I wonder if she pees on something steel out there...will she stick to it..like a tongue to a pole??
Seriously though, I HATE this cold! My skin shrinks up and feels so tight...I itch from excema...nostrils freeze up just sticking my head out the door to get the mail (however...the mail that's been coming lately is worth the frosted nostrils ;) )!! The 2 youngest kiddies suffer more with asthma in this cold than any other time, so they cannot stay outside for very long. Have I mentioned that I HATE WINTER?!! Three more months till spring. wormicon

I heard about all the cold weather you guys were getting in Ontario! Burrr! And to think that Newfoundland usually has the reputation for being the cold province! We are enjoying 12 degrees Cel. And have not a speck of snow on the ground. Do try and keep inside, and hopefully it'll warm up soon. Burrrrrr Merry Christmas!

Freezing in Barrie

Hello fellow freezing Ontarians! We hit about -40 here in Barrie. I had pipes freeze in my house, and no running cold water all day yesterday! They finally thawed around 8 last night. I was pretty nervous all day about pipes bursting. Being alone at home with a 4 year old, a baby and two dogs, I don't know what I would have done if they had burst! And poor Lara, oh my goodness we had a little scare there. She is just so skinny (despite all efforts to plump her up), and the cold goes right through her. I had her outside for less than 3 minutes, I kid you not, and when I turned around to let her in she was a sorry sight indeed. Shaking uncontrollably, standing on her two front paws with both of her back paws in the air (I didn't know she had such balance!), obviously in pain. I of course opened the door right away to let her in, but she was so distressed she couldn't even move. I ran out there in my slippers and picked up all 60 lbs. of her and carried her inside. Now when I let the dogs out I don't turn my back to them even for a second, in case we have a repeat of that scary incident.
I'm just going to close my eyes, breathe deeply and think about all of those tulip bulbs I planted in October, and wait patiently for the thermometer to rise.

Just think, today is the shortest day of the year and the first day of winter. To think that winter has only officially started. I'm sure it's not much consolation, but my sister lives in Cold lake Alberta and there it goes down to minus 50 degrees C. and that's without any windchill. :)
