We are home!!
I am so happy to say we are finally home!!! Maddie's noon glucose level was good (120 to be exact) so I pulled her catheters and loaded her up into the car. She is resting so much better here at home and eating better also. I have checked her glucose twice since we have been home and it has been within the normal range (I'm afraid to even write that because I'm afraid I might jinx it.) I was concerned about her levels drastically dropping since we stopped the IV dextrose. Hopefully (praying, praying, praying) her levels will remain in the normal range once everything leaves her system. She is still acting a bit off, not quit herself yet but hopefully in a few days she will be back too normal. I am so happy that we will be sleeping in our own bed tonight and not on a concrete floor!!!
I am going to try really hard to not dwell on the biopsy results and the "what if" until we get the re-do report back. Unfortunately, I'm not a very optimistic person in general so this will be a huge task for me to try and do. I hope no one misunderstood me, It's not that I want the biopsy result to come back as a malignant tumor because I would love nothing more than for it to be benign. I just hope that whatever is causing her hypoglycemia was removed during the surgery and not left behind, that is what I am really scared/upset about. However, I am so thankful that Maddie made it out of surgery and is now recovering, I am very grateful for that and will try to focus on that right now. Right now I am praying that her glucose levels remain in the normal range and she continues to have a pretty uneventful recovery. She has given a few nubbin wags which puts a smile on my face (even if her butt is tucked under and her nubbin looks like it is glued to her body!!!!)
Thanks again. Your prayers, positive thoughts, support and comments are helping Maddie and I get through this!!!
