I have 2 guys a year a part and they still don't life their legs to pee. I think its hysterical but also a little embarrasing when you go to the park and everyone elses dog finds a tree, but mine squat like a girl. Its fun when they are out with their boxer aunt who is 2 years older then the oldest and they all squat together to pee....do you ever notice that when you put more then one boxer together to go pottie they do it at the same time...or maybe its just the boys who have competitive natures :D

They are not neutered yet, but will be. Anyone else find dogs that do this?

Thanks!

Tiger will be 9 months old tomorrow, and he still doesn't lift his leg. From previous posts on this subject, we are not alone.

We have a Boxer that didn't lift his leg until he was 18 months old, and he was around adult males. But then we used him to breed and lo and behold he started lifting his leg. Guess it just takes some incentive for some.

Butch:rolleyes:

Riley just turned 9 months and he still doesn't lift his leg. I've heard that they sometimes start at about a year old. but some males never lift their legs.

The only problem we're having now is that Riley sometimes PEES ON HIS CHEST because when he squats to pee his aim seems to shoot the stream right into himself -- if THAT'S not motivation for him to lift, I don't know what is!

Junior was not neutered until age 3 and he basically does either. When he is "marking" (which he still does after neutering) he will lift his leg for sure. He still squats and does his "power pees" and when he is still half asleep when we send him out.

I've heard that a lot of males won't lift their legs ever, unless they see another male do it. I don't know how much truth there is in that but there ya go....

Tyson is 4 months old and has lifted his leg once, and it was not outside. I was taking a bath one evening and Ty came running into the bathroom, lifted his leg and peed on the floor and went trotting out. I was astounded. I thought "wow, so young and he lifted his leg, but he also peed in the house!". I thought maybe Moose had been influencing him. He was a one lift wonder. :) He also has the pee peeing on himself problem. I have heard that it can actually be better if they dont ever lift because then they won't run around peeing on everything. Who knows.

Rock didn't lift his leg until about 14 months old. He does most of the time now (18 months) but still squats when there is a lot coming :) Its all good... just let them do their thing.
