My 2 year old son may need edoscopic surgery

I too have had an endoscopy (sp?) they are painless. It was like being in a very deep sleep and then you wake up and can't believe it's already over with. The worst part to me was having to take a very extreme saline laxative the night before to clean out the system. But it must be scary when it's your child. Best of luck witth everything and let's hope he doesn't need to have the procedure.

Well, my son had it done and it was a piece of cake for him. The only part he didn't like was having the iv in him. As soon as they took the iv off he was talking and laughing with all of the nurses. They went in and took the quarter out with no problem. They gave me the quarter and of course I'm going to keep it to show him and his girlfriends what a little terror he was. I'm just soo glad that it's over with and I no longer have to hear him yell"mommy, i got to do poopoo, get the rubber gwoves!!"

I was wondering if he'd had the procedure. It's great to hear everything went well. Be sure to get that quarter out for your son's first girl friend, especially if he's about 13--he'll love you so much for that!! LOL.

I had my first endoscopy at 17 years. I was feeling badly before I went to the appointment, but the doctor made it worse by telling me he was going to spray my throat with something that tasted like rotten bananas. He did not use any anesthetic to sedate me and the whole thing was an awful ordeal. That was 15 1/2 years ago. Now they sedate and, as you said, it makes it a painless, stressfree experience.

You can always really embarrass him on his wedding day by telling this story...(as a matter of fact, print this thread out for future use) and proceed to hand him the quarter with gloves on! :D
