Well Ms. Ali is getting stronger everyday but not putting much weight on her leg. I was hoping that she would be putting some weight on it by now. She does put it down on and off and I guess every dog is different. I think she's scared mostly and I'm sure it hurts a lot yet. But otherwise she's going on three legs like there's no tomorrow. It's had to keep a boxer down once they start to feel better. She spends a lot of time on the deck on her bed just lying in the sun which is good.

Ms. Ali is improving all the time. I walked her for 5 minutes as prescribed by her doctor. She did fine putting her leg down just about all the time. But being very cautious too. She is soo good about her physio. I actually start out massaging her belly and back and the move to her leg and hip. She really enjoys it!! I then slowly move her leg back and forth. If she gets tense I stop and do some back massages for her before I try again. I know from having surgeries myself it's so good to have a good back rub from lying in bed.

From what I've read on the list of things I have to do for her it says that a lot of dogs need to be muzzled before trying to do physio. I'm so proud of my baby. She was nervous at first and wasn't too fussy and would lick at my hand and at her wound because she was so scared I was going to hurt her. But once she knew I would be very gentle with her she trusted me 100%.

I know the first few weeks are the hardest but once she starts bearing all her weight full time I think I will have to watch her very carefully in case she gets too wound up and reinjures herself.

Thanks for all your good wishes and pls. keep the healing vibes going. I think they are working!!

Such wonderful news to hear that Ms. Ali is making good progress!! :) The success of her therapy has probably been because of your gentle handling, and being able to read Ali's reactions and not push too hard when you see her discomfort. I agree that once she starts feeling better, you'll need to watch her closely. What a trooper she is and what a good mom you are! More healing vibes going out to your baby girl! :)

Ms. Ali is continuing to do well. However she is still not bearing full weight all the time and when she wants to go anywhere fast up comes the bad leg and she hops off like a bunny rabbit. It's hard now cause she's anxious to get moving and more so when someone comes to visit she just wants to wiggle herself to death. I'm working on her "go to your bed" command and she's doing very well. She loves her big comfy new bed and I'm hoping that she will continue to use it after she's all well. I move it to the bedroom at night times and she's happy with that cause she knows I'm right there beside her (even though Bailey our poodle is up on the bed looking down at her). Her check up in on Thursday evening and I can't wait to see what the vet is going to say. I hope it's good news. Pls. keep the good vibes going. We're not out of the woods yet. Thanks a bunch.

GRUNTSMOM: Thank you for your kind words. It's all trial and error!! I'd do anything to make it a little easier for my baby. And thanks too for all your great healing vibes. Ms. Ali sends you a big slobbery kiss!!

More healing vibes going out to Ms. Ali, and hope the checkup tomorrow goes well! It sounds like she's doing good, under the circumstances, and probably lapping up all that TLC. ;) And I absolutely know you don't mind in the least giving her the extra attention, she is your baby girl! Please tell Ali that Gruntsmom appreciates the big slobbery kiss SO much! lovicon ((hugs))

Good Report

Ms. Ali saw the vet Thursday evening and got a really good report. Everything is fine and she's where she should be at this stage. I was so happy!! She can increase her walks up to two 10 to 15 min. walks daily now. As well I must continue her physio. She actually loves her massages now and I think she looks forward to them. Who could blame her... getting all that attention as if she didn't get enough all ready!!

Thanks guys for all your healing vibes and good wishes. I'll keep you all updated on her progress. Back to the vet in 3 weeks.
