Well, if it makes you feel any better

Chance is completely sound after her knee surgeries, and we consider it money well spent. We didn't get back into agility, but she has been able to walk, run, jump and have a happy painfree life. I'm hoping for the same recovery for your dog :)

Thanks so much. This gives me hope. It will cost around $2,000 but as long as she's well that's all that matters. I spoke with a lady who had her husky done 3 weeks ago by the same vet and her dog is doing great. No problems. Right now she's up and about but of course the paw is up more than down but she's as tough as nails and I don't hear a wimper out of her. She even jumped upon my bed last night. I have her bed right next to mine but she's so used to sleeping in the bed that once she wakes early in the am. she wants in the bed. I think she is probably a little cold cause I usually have the window open so she wants to cuddle to mommy. The window is being closed tonight I don't want her hurting herself any more.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words and thoughts for Ms. Ali. I hate to have her go through this but from what I understand she doesn't have a choice. Hopefully she'll be fine and her stay will be short and she can come home with her mommy good as new.

Just make sure that your vet sends her home

with some pain medication. My dog needed it for a day or two after the surgery...

Thanks a bunch. From what I could get from my vet he's right up on boxers and knew right away no ACE and other meds that they don't recommend for boxers. So I'm happy about that. Since all this happened I've heard lots of good things about him. I've seen him before but not for something as serious as this.

You guys are all so great!! Thanks for your concern and thoughtfullness. Ms. Ali had her surgery this morning and all went well. I stopped by this afternoon and she was asleep. She was awake after surgery and was given pain meds and from what I've been told everything went well. I just called again and she's resting comfortably. I left one of her blankets and two of her toys with her. She wasn't fussy about my leaving her at the clinic this am. She didn't want me to go and I couldn't help but shed a few tears. The vet doesn't want me to visit cause she would get all excited and probably tear open her stitches or reinjure her knee. I can't wait until tomorrow morning until I can call and see how she made out over night. As of now I have an apptm. with the orthopedic specialist on Thursday at 2:00 pm. and then I can take her home.

Hunnys Mom: Ms. Ali had ACL - anterior cruciate ligament surgery. Apparently there is a distinct way the dog holds its leg and how it moves when this ligament is ruptured as was her case. Ms. Ali saw two vets that said right away that it was ACL. I did research on line and watched a video of a boxer and a lab with the exact same thing and they were identical to how Ms. Ali was. They both had surgery and I watched the surgery on line too. My vet explained the surgery in the very same manner so I felt more comfortable getting it done and anyways she really didn't have much choice. I'm glad Hunny is doing better but I know it's still a concern when she still limps and you really haven't had any concrete answers as to what's going on - have you?

I'll post again tomorrow and let you all know how she's doing.
