Last evening I took Ms.Ali to the ball field where I met with my friend and her boxer who is half the size of Ms. Ali. They both ran and ran and played but nothing like I've seen them before. Nevertheless just when we were about to go home I noticed her paw up. Thinking she might have walked on something I checked her out but no signs of cuts. I took her home and as the night went on it got worse. She won't put her back leg down now at all and to make matters worse she went downstairs and I had to get my son to bring her back up. I should have had the stairs barred off which I have since. She loves to go down and get on the couch. Also we had company and she got all excited to which I spend half the night trying to get her to settle. She wanted to get in my bed but that was off because it's too high so I made a bed for her next to my bed. After after many many attemps she finally lay down. I even lay on the floor next to her for awhile. She's not one to whine but I did her her moaning in her sleep. I'm so worried that it could be something very serious but I guess I'll have to wait to see what the vet says. I'm hoping rest and lots of TLC will do the trick. I'll keep you all posted. Pls. say a prayer for my baby.

Oh Murp.mm, I just found this thread, and am so sorry to hear about Ms. Ali! :( Perhaps she strained something yesterday while out and playing. I can imagine how worried you are! I'm keeping you and Ali in my prayers, and send loads of healing vibes to your sweet girl. Please let us know what the vet says. ((hugs))

My parents bernse mountain dog did a similar thing playing with Johann. :(

First vet diagnosed it as hip dysplasia (was 9 months old). An ortho specialist vet diagnosed (and was correct) that it was an ACL sprain and a torn hip ligament. It took a month or so of restricted exercise, leash walking only, no running. But, she's back to 100% now.

I hope Ms. Ali is feeling all better by now.

Ms. Ali has to have surgery on her knee!!

Ms. Ali saw the vet and as soon as she looked at her she told me that it was Cruciale Ligament Rupture. Of course she did some tests but Ms. Ali has to see an Orthopedic Surgeon on Wednesday to confirm but as far as she's concerned it's surgery. She put her on anti-inflamatory pills to help with the pain. Apparently this happens quite often with bigger dogs and it can happen quite easily.

I asked her about a growth of some type between her toes and although last year at her check up she had one very similiar on her other paw I was told it was some type of cyst and not to worry but this vet wants it bioposied just because she's boxer. I want it OUT just to be on the same side and not to have to go back a month later and have it removed should it be something. She's also overweigh. She's 35.1 kg. I'm figuring around 80 lbs.

She's such a good girl through all of this. The first night she was all out of sorts and wanting to get upon my bed. She just couldn't understand why I wouldn't let her up but now she knows that's not an option and is happy to sleep on her bed (although it's worn and tattered cause it's always on the deck where she can lie on it when she wants to. I have two chiropractor pillows and I put one on her bed for her and she loves it). She sleeps all day and I move her bed around the house for her so she can be whereever we are. So if you all could keep her in your prayers and me too cause like all of you here know what it's like when our babies are hurt and the surgery is one thing but those bioposys can be so worrysome. Thanks for all your support and good wishes.
