Whew...so glad Holly did well during surgery ...I've waiting to hear all day.... I hope she has a speedy recovery & all is well with her growth plate ...keeping fingers crossed until she is out of the woods ..!!

Take care of yourself Genie ..Miss Holly needs your strength..I know its easier said than done ..but try to get some sleep tonight ..!!!

Holly is Home

The patient is home. Genie has a photo she snapped today she will share soon. Holly is eating and doing well. Continuing to enjoy her Princess couch time

The bandage is actually not very cumbersome. And as she heals, the surgeon said she will have less and less of a bandage. I am sure Scrapper misses his little sister.

Holly still has to heal up so she can take the show ring by storm!!

I just came across this thread. It sounds like all is going well with Holly. Indy, Ava and I will be hoping that her recovery is uneventful and complete.

Over forty years ago, I ran into a parked car while riding my motorbike. I don't remember much about it, other than when I was about to hit the car. I can't tell you what I was doing just prior to that and why I didn't see it.

The next thing that I remember was coming to on someone's front lawn. I got an ambulance ride to the hospital. I had broken my leg in three places between the knee and the ankle. The tibia had an oblique fracture which required a plate and four screws to ensure that the bone would heal at the proper length.

It has been in my leg for 42 years now, and the scar from surgery is the only thing that reminds me it is still there. It has never bothered me, or hindered me in any way.

So, we'll hope for the same results for Holly.

WOW, With all the x-mas stuff going on in my house I haven't checking in much. I was in awe when I saw this post.

I am so sorry about Holly, LOTS of Boxer Healing Vibes, and Baylee, Brandy, and Zeus send~~~~lots of Boxer kisses her way~~~~

I bet they used glue instead of stitches, Baylee has little to no scar from her sugery a few months ago! (nobody can see it but me-that is becasue I know my boxers head to toe!) 8)

Hooray for Holly and the vets. Been following this thread and finally have a chance to reply to it. Holly is in great hands with Christina, Genie and the Vet and of course all of the healing vibes from all the fine people here at BW.

The greedy little piglet ate a hearty breakfast this AM... she is getting around pretty well on three legs. She spent most of yesterday being petted by and/or sleeping on top of someone on the couch. The doctor's orders are to keep her confined and (relatively) quiet, no playing with her brother and no unsupervised activity. Since no one ever leaves her alone, that is pretty easy. We have to go back for a check tomorrow and then again in about 10 days and every 10 days/2 weeks following until the leg is fully healed. These past days have been just a blur, the Christmas tree is only half decorated, my shopping isn't nearly complete, but we are grateful for the way this entirely unpleasant episode is turning out, and THANK YOU all for your thoughts and prayers.
