GEEEZ, this has been a long day, waiting to hear! I just got off the phone with the doctor, he said everything went really well (thank God!) he got the fracture reduced, with the plate put in a place where it is not near the growth plate, although we still have to wait and see to make sure it is not damaged. He said she did really well during the surgery, had just wakened up and if she did well tonight and was stable, could come home tomorrow afternoon with her leg splinted. She will have IV fluids, antibiotics and pain meds tonight, but that I could call any time for a status report if I got really antsy

He also said he did not use sutures to close the wound to minimize the scarring, but some other method - sorry I forgot to ask - but that he thought the bone would be healed in about four weeks. He was very upbeat about her recovery, so I am soooo relieved!!! Of course, there is still a bit of uncertainty, but it looks very, very good.
I am so relieved! I swear, if my phone rang one more time I was going to have a heart attack from the stress!
Thank you so very much to all who have offered words of encouragement and good wishes for our little sweetie during this tme. She is just a little heart-stealer. The techs at the hospital this AM said I might have a hard time getting her back from them she was so cute. Of course, my first phone call after the doctor, was to Christina, who was white-knuckling it right there with me all day long.
Thank you, thank you, thank you - Holly sends her little puppy hugs to all -
