Stacey,
No more pasta!!! Carbs feed the cancer, he should be on a no or low carb diet that is high in protein. Chicken and broccoli is fine. As for supplements:

omega 3
flax seed oil or salmon oil
Selenium (fights cancer)
vitamin c
milk thistle (for the liver esp. w/ predisone)

that's all I can remember off the top of my head. Search for

Caesar lymphoma at Bw and there is tons more info. Glad to hear he is doing ok!

I am so sorry to hear about your baby. My first boxer and best friend Cleo died of it 2 yrs ago. We first found a lump under her jaw. We did not have the funds for the chemo. She took prendisone for 4 months and then we had to put her to sleep. After 4 months, she could not eat or walk. It was the saddest day of our lives. MY husband went with me. I could not go in. I still talk about her- she was so wonderful- she was 7 yrs when dx. 4 days later i found Sarah and mandy in Rescue and they have brightened m life again. Boxers are wonderful. I have to agree with the SE- of the steroids-frequent urination. she really had nothing else. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sorry about Taylor. My Bailey was lost to lymphoma this past May. Bailey was also hyper-calcimic (high calcium) when her cancer was out of remission. This will cause them to drink a lot of water too. Be sure to make certain Taylor doesn't dehydrate. It seems impossible with all the water they will drink, but watch for signs of it. Bailey would pant and become lethargic. She would also stop eating when dehydrated. I feel so bad for you having to go through this. My best advice I can give having gone through this myself, is to enjoy your time and love Taylor. It is hard not to think about how long you will have, but as long as you have time, enjoy it to the fullest. My best wishes to you and Taylor.

Sorry to hear about Taylor. Back in November my female boxer Demi had cancer in one of her toes so they amputated part of her foot. Just today after noticing that she had diarrhea, bloating, a hard time breathing and gagging very easily I phone my girlfriend out vet and had her examined. An ultrasound showed a 12 x 8 cm mass which ended up to be lymphoma. All of our boxers to date have had a bout of some type of cancer but this one in non-operable.

Anyone out there with hints of how we can make her last days healthier for her or what to expect would be greatly appreciated.

For now I am just going to love her to death which in my opinion goes a long way to adding to their health.

Take care

Maureen

Our Dutch also had lymphoma and had trouble with breathing because of a mass. The vet started her on prednisone to shrink the mass and it helped a lot in the beginning. We opted for chemo knowing that prednisone wasn't going to help long term. If you don't choose to go chemo, the prendisone will make her more comfortable for a while. They will have to keep raising the dose as the mass will stop responding at some point. I'm sure others here can also give you some idea's as a lot of us have been where you are.
Please give Demi lots of extra hugs and kisses from us and know she will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just need to talk.

loss to lymphoma

i am sorry to hear about your boy. i lost my beautiful fawn Cleo 2yrs ago. she was 7 yrs old. I could not afford chemo. We did the steroids. she did great at first. she was Dx in Oct and felt great. she slowly started to slip after Christmas. About 4 months later in March, she stopped eating and could not greet us anymore. We knew it was time. it broke my heart. i was sad for days. At the time, I did not know lymphoma was a main disease for boxers. I'll be thinking of you. I just found out las t week that my baby Sarah has early statge renal failure-4yrs old. It is not easy. Take care.
