I haven't seen it, but it sounds as if the whole movie kind of got "Lost in Translation" 
We did however see a couple good movies this past weekend.
Second Hand Lions

The Fighting Temptations.

I saw 'Lost in Translation' last weekend. I'd been pretty psyched up to see it, having heard that it had been called 'the best movie of the year' and that Bill Murray gave an Academy Award-winning performance.
I was disappointed with the film. I thought it digressed into an indulgent MTV video for a large portion of the film. It did get better in the latter half, but not enough to save it entirely. I will concede that it was a departure for Bill Murray, and that he played the part without his trademark 'shtick'. I thought Scarlett Johanssen was about as interesting as a wet dishrag.
To address your original question, I'm not entirely sure what I was supposed to 'get'!

Completely Boxer Crazy
I was just at Blockbuster this past weekend and I debated on renting it..I didn't. Thanks for the reviews because now I know I didn't really miss anything and I'll wait til it comes on one of the movie channels for free.

I haven't seen it but from the mixed reviews on this thread, it sounds very much like the reaction people had to "Moulin Rouge". People either totally loved it or hated it or didn't get it. Isn't it wonderful?! If we all liked the same stuff, it would really be a dull world. Guess I'll have to rent this one to see what I think.

Critiques from journalists and public about that movie were pretty good here but I still think it was too long, slow and predictable. Can't wait to watch another movie to forget this one

Alright movie....not great....could have left it on the shelf. Should have picked up Cabin Fever...maybe???

I know my husband was irritated with the movie, when I asked him what he whispered his response was "who cares". We also watched "Le Divorce"...we didn't think it was much better. My husband hates it when I pick out the movies. I can see why this last time. :o
