Juno has lymphoma.

I know I dont get on here anymore but I wanted to reach out for any vibes or personal experiences anyone has to offer.

Juno was diagnosed with lymphoma yesterday. A week ago she was happy and running around and being a normal active dog... and within a matter of days she completely stopped eating, has 0 energy, lymph nodes enlarged and abnormal blood work. I was grasping at straws trying to find some other, treatable cause but her lymph node cytology came back yesterday to confirm it.

The dog who would never let me "forget" to feed her. Who would start drooling the moment you touched her food bowl. Who was notorious for eating pounds of food and treats, ripping into unopened containers if you left her alone with any.... I now have cupboards full of a variety of canned foods, baby food, nutrical, cat food etc trying to find something she'll even eat one bite of.

She has an appointment with an oncologist this week. I'm a vet tech but this is something I'm not familiar with at all because we would refer people to a specialist if they wanted to treat it. So I don't know what to expect but vibes that my kiddo keeps fighting...

I am so sorry :( Unfortunately I do have experience with Lymphoma. Every dog is different so my experience may be totally different than others but if I can answer any questions or give any advise/suggestion please feel free to ask.

Food/eating - We didn't have an issue with Joey not eating. He was on prednisone so that kept his appetite up quite a bit... he actually gained weight.

Thanks guys. I feel like as a boxer owner this is one of those things that's just always in the back of your mind as a possibility. I just hate that she's so young. And how quickly it came on and made her go downhill. :(

@joeys mom - I'm hoping prednisone will help the appetite. I plan on doing chemo with her so unfortunately you can't start steroids beforehand otherwise she'd be on it already. And I'm not sure what exactly is causing the anorexia... her calcium is very high which I know can make them feel poorly. But I also wonder if the swollen lymph nodes make it difficult for her too, because when I do get her to eat she seems to prefer baby food or really soupy canned foods.

Her onco appointment is tomorrow morning, I'm really hoping we can actually get something started tomorrow instead of it just strictly being a consultation... she is just not feeling well and with her hardly eating for a whole week already, I don't want to have to wait to schedule another appt before we can actually DO something. =/

It maybe a long shot but if soupy soft foods works for her maybe you could blend some of her food in blender with some chicken broth?? just a thought.

I will say many prayers that you can get things started today! unfortunately chemo wasn't as option for us so I cant offer any advise in that area but I will look forward to hearing how things went today!!!!

<<<<<<<<<<<<<HEALTHY POSITIVE HEALING VIBES coming your way for Juno>>>>>>>>>>>>> and calming hugs and vibes for you loveicon
