Please give here a big hug from me.![]()
Sounds like there's some celebrating going on at your house! I'm SO happy for you, Izzy and Gus, so glad your sweet girl is feeling a lot better. Gus is acting just like Grunt would when he was deliriously happy! He missed his sis so much, bless his heart.
It's hard waiting on results. I wish there was a quicker way to process the PLI test, as it can be critical to immediate treatment of acute pancreatitis. Thank goodness Izzy responded to the IV fluids and meds, she is hungry and eating....and she is HOME!!Continued healing vibes for Izzy. Please keep us posted on her progress. I bet you are one happy mommy tonight!

The PLI test is pancreas specific, and is definitive in diagnosing pancreatitis. If Izzy's enzyme levels were high in initial bloodwork results, and with her symptoms (which sounded like pancreatitis), the cPLI would be the next step in diagnosing. It is a very good sign that Izzy is now eating and drinking, that means she is recovering. If she did have an acute attack, it may be the only one she'll ever have, sometimes that happens. If you do get a definite diagnosis of pancreatitis, your vet will probably recommend a VERY low fat diet for Izzy for the rest of her life - you don't even want to take any chances that this might happen again - fatty food can trigger it!! I am so keeping my fingers crossed that the PLI comes back with levels within the normal range, hope that she continues to improve and is back to playing with Gus soon. Please keep us posted. And I hope you can get some rest tonight!
