I have to take back what I said earlier. If I could change one thing about my boys it would be: for Maximus to be less hyper.

My husband told me that he was walking up the stairs one evening and the younger of the two boxers that we have was farting all the way up. Not to mention that the younger one what walking in front of my husband so he got all the farts in his face. His farts are really stinky.

The only thing i would change about the breed would be their too short lifespan and their health.

Other than the lifespan, it would be nice if they came with an off switch. I LOVE Willis's antics, it would be a nice feature to have every so often... just long enough to get a bit of something else done when he is around!!!

I wouldn't change a thing, I think they are a great breed despite their ailments and lifespan (that is life). Wouldn't trade my boxy-boy for the world either.

Like everyone else, lifespan and health are biggies! Our babies are subject to so many awful ailments such as cancer and heart problems. I know personally because we are going through this with Titus, who is in remission with lymphoma. I know despite the fact that he doesn't act or look like a sick dog, our days with him are numbered. I try not to dwell on it too much, but know we probably have a year or two at best - and he's only 8 right now! So yes, I would take away the health problems and make them live a lot longer. I would gladly put up with the flying boogers and gas just to have them around longer. Walls can be washed and the air clears up in a minute!

Although a longer lifespan would be nice I think we just need to enjoy them while we have them. It is as if they pack 20 yrs of love and energy into 10 yrs and that makes them special. The gas, snoring and drool are just part of what makes me LOL each day.
If I could make one change - well not so much a change as an addition - I think a miniature boxer would be cool. You know like a mini pinscher. Looks just like the full size version but about 1/4 the size. It would be like having a puppy forever. They seem to be puppy on the inside most of their lives how cool to be puppy size on the outside only without the puppy stuff like chewing, peeing on the rug, etc
