I remember when milk cost $.25 and lunch was $1.25 at school
I remember when it was cool to leave one strap unbuckled on overalls
I remember when oversized t-shirts were cool
I remember when smoking was still allowed in California restaurants (not that I smoke, I just remember my parents being asked smoking or non when we went out to eat)
I remember when banana seats were cool on bikes
I remember when streamers & spoke-e-dokes were cool too
I remember when roller blading was cool
I remember popples, polly pockets, kaboodles, and skip-it's were cool

Oh I remember when kids played outside all day until mom called them in for dinner because there was no such thing as video games! Ahh! Can you tell my kids are home for the summer!

OMG! I remember those days... I remember Skidz (is that what they were called?) Those horrible overall sets that were made of plaid flannel... Yuck! I also remember writing a fan letter to Macgyver, and getting a response! It was a postcard with a picture of he and his dog, Whiskey. I just knew he would come and marry me because we both loved dogs!! I remember watching Simon and Simon and Magnum PI. I remember being crazy over New Kids on the Block!! Ahh!! I remember the Jagger, Karen and Brenda drama on General Hospital. I remember riding on the gas tank if front of my dad on the motorcycle. I remember doing cherry drops off of the swing set bars on the playground at school. I remember side ponytails!!! Oh, I could go on and on..... This is pretty fun.

I remember being in love with New Kids on the BLock
I remember that my mother wouldnt let me use tampons or shave my legs until high school because she thought I was still too young.
All that I dont miss

But heres the stuff I do miss and still do if I feel so inclined...............
I remember when divorce wasnt commonplace. Now im one of few whose parents are still married, and being only 25, almost half of mine and DH circle or friends have been married and already divorced.

I remember when my mother wouldnt let me wear makeup or drink coffee until high school. 2 months ago when I was in the States for my brother-in-laws wedding I was shopping with my mother-in-law and we stopped at a Starbuck in the mall. In front of us were 3 young girls.....they looked maybe 16 so im guessing they were maybe 14, they all had on little shorts barely covering there butts (like you might see in Victorias Secret advertised as pajamas) and itty bitty camisoles, skinny as can be with tons of makeup on and they were drinknig Venti (xlarge) iced coffe drinks! My mother in law looked at me and asked "Did you leave your house looking like that at that age" I replied with "I didnt leave my bedroom looking like that if there were males in the house!"

I remember when my parents knew all my friends parents
I remember when everything wasnt gonna kill you or give you cancer.................I still love a natural suntan, I eat red meat, drink wine and whisky. I mean I try to live a haelthy lifestyle but some poeple take it too far.

I remember having to eat what my mother cooked and that was it, and being spanked if I said other wise............not time outs and McDonlads.
I remember pop, chips, frozen pizza, ice cream and snake cakes were treats not daily staples.

I remember when Mobile Phones (cell phones) first came out, they were the size of a House Brick! (and weighted the same too) you had to charge them up every 8 hrs if on standby and only got 20mins of battery life of you talked on them.

Also (kind of gross) I remember....White dog poop!

I remember bouncing on my bright orange space-hopper, & skating on metal roller skates (they were noisy). :D

I remember when Burt Reynolds was the coolest too. (He still has the best laugh). :D

I remember when you didn't have to wear a seat-belt, or worry about one person per seat. Dad had an Estate, & someone was always laying in the back. :D

I remember half-penny mojo sweets. :D

I remember your friend's parents could give you a clip round the ear. :D

I remember when when people danced at the cinema when Grease was showing. :D

I remember when Vanilla Ice was the only cool rapper. :D

I remember wearing MC Hammer trousers. :D

I remember watching Roots, & Tenko, & Tales of the unexpected, (& I used to do that wavy dance when the title music came on. )

I remember when Spurs used to win the FA Cup!! (That's my team). :D

I remember when it was a good thing to wear fur!!

I remember when no one wanted to wear a brace on their teeth - (My kid can't wait to get hers!).

I remember the first video game you could hook up to your tv - It was like a tennis game - We were well excited about that.

I remember when kids only got bought stuff at birthdays, & xmas time.

I remember when racism wasn't racist!! & it wasn't okay to say you were gay!!

I remember when I thought that the Carry On films were rude. :D

I remember drinking milk at school in half-sized milk bottles. :p (Maggie Thatcher The Milk Snatcher.

I remember when the only place to holiday was Devon. :D (It's still a nice place to go).

I remember using the phone box, but I can't remember the last time I did!!

I remember chrome bumpers.

I remember when it was shameful to be on benefits. :o (And I always thought that the kids at school that got free dinners were better off than me!). :D

From what I understand,if you feed raw you still get a good amount of poop turning white.

More remembering....
I remember when Math was something we had to figure out the long way..no calculators and we HAD to show our work to get a correct mark!
I remember being given a "due date" for a project in school, and if it wasn't handed in, you failed (nowadays, kids have until the end of the term to hand in any unfinished assignments!!).
I remember all 7 kids piling into dads station-wagon (a woody too!) and wrestling around the back until we reached our destination.
I remember the Gong Show!
I remember "rag-curling" my hair, then ironing it because it was too fuzzy!
I remember cigarettes costing $2.84/large pack...now..$10!! Good incentive to quit!
I remember laying pennies on the railroad tracks, causing them to become squashed/flattened perfectly by a train, then punching a hole in it with a nail so we can slip it on a chain to wear around our necks! (not a safe place to play... )
I remember feeling rich when mom gave us a whole quarter for the penny-candy store!
I remember feeling the same way my kids do today..."Wow...geez...how did you guys survive the "old days"...I would have DIED"!!
