boxermomof4 - I'm sorry that those "milestones" without our angels are so hard. My Jake's 3rd month away is Saturday, and I haven't found that month 1 easier than month 3. However, I have found that by coming to this particular thread, I have the opportunity to return what compassion has been shown to me with the loss of my Jake. I hope that as time passes, it may do the same for you. So many great parents and family members of our precious pets! I live in Central KY, the capital city actually. Almost in the middle of Lexington and Louisville. Great place for boxers to run! Jake looked like he would faint the first time he met a horse (at the cardiac vet). :) Northern, Southern, Central IL? Warm wishes for ongoing healing friend. Oh, and yes, my brindle girl is a pup, born 11/27. :) Less than 8 weeks now until she comes home.

Thank you so much for your comforting words. This is a rough week as it marks the one month mark without our Jake.

I am so glad that your Jake had wonderful parents like you to stuff so much loving into his short life. While he was here, he had Heaven on earth.

I noticed that your are from KY. I am from IL. I am wondering what part of KY you are from.

Take care and have a great day.

I guess it was fate that the two Jake's mama's would come here to console each other. I know your new puppy will not replace your Jake, but it will take your mind off things because you are going to be so busy training the new girl and giving her love.

Having my foster boy here has helped me just the one week he has been here. I am always telling him how sweet he is, but I add there will never be one as sweet as my Jake.

I just participated in a transport for a rescue dog today. My first one. It was heart wrenching. I know they are taking the dogs to safety and hopefully loving homes. I took a Collie that was going to a rescue that had an family wanting to adopt him. He was so sweet. I had only been around him an hour and it was all I could do to let him go in the cargo van to hopefully loving owners. I admire those people who do this for the animals.

I am in S IL. I was just through somewhere close to your area. We came from PA a week ago Sunday.

Well, have a good day and think about the good times your little girl will bring you.

boxermomof4,
You're so right, as fate would have it the two Jake angels' mamas would meet to console here. I am so excited about our new girl, but in my mind, I always know that there is just no replacing my precious boy. But I look so forward to loving and spoiling another one. Jake has his own place at the back of our yard and I still walk down there daily. His little stone says "Mom's boy forever. We miss your kisses!" I hope that each day continues to bring you healing. I see that you got to travel through a bit of our state. The prettiest parts are all hidden on the back roads, but a belated welcome to KY! Be well friend and Godspeed to our precious Jakes! :) You are so courageous to participate in the rescue! I think all I could do is cry to let any one of them go. :)

You are so right. There is no replacements for our boys and they will never be forgotten. We have so much love to give other ones so we have a mission to share it with new ones. I believe that God knows what we need and have put these dogs in our paths. This foster boy does not compare to Jake's beauty nor does he provide the look of love that Jake gave. He does want to be loved and he just melts in my arms soaking up the loving that he has missed in his life. Every night he has to sleep with me and he ends up with his paw where it looks like he is hugging me or just lays his head on my neck. He is really pushing his way into my heart.

He starts his heart worm treatments next week. I hope he does well with them.
They are really hard on them. Hopefully he will survive it.

I know you are counting the days until you have your precious girl with you.

Have a good weekend.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Jake... I'm feeling the void in my life also missing my Lady and Roxy, we had a multiple loss a week ago today... We need to pull strength from our inner self for our furbabies left with us here, and keep the memories of our lost babies in our hearts....

Jake, run free sweet baby... I hope you get to run into Lady-girl she was a great girl and loves to take care of other dogs...

hang in there, take care...

I am so sorry that you are feeling the loss of two fur babies. I thought I was going to croak over losing one, I cannot imagine what it has been like for you.
I hope Lady is looking after Jake, he needs a good girl to look out for him.

We just have to share our love with other fur babies who need it.

Take comfort in knowing that your babies knew they were loved.

God speed Lady, Roxie, and 2 Jake's. I am sure that my Jake is hanging out with Jake Rock's, baby Jake so there are 2 Jake's.

I am so sorry to hear about Jake. I understand your pain when you loose a loved furbaby. Our Memphis went to the bride this past Wednesday (12/5/07). It was one of the hardest decisions we had to make and he too was far too young (1 year 9 months).

Rest assured Jake is running @ the bride fancy and care free. Blessings to you and your family during this difficult time.

Kisses sweet Jake.

This is killing me - hearing about all of these young babies that are going to the bridge so young. I am so sorry about about Memphis. I atleast had Jake 5 yrs which I thought was too young to go.

I know if you just lost him on Wednesday that there must have been tears streaming down your face as you wrote this. I remember the first posts I made after I lost Jake, I felt like I was dying too.

I have gotten my comfort from lavishing love on this foster boxer that I have right now. I hope you, too, will find something that will comfort you during this trying episode in your life.
Hang in there.

Godspeed sweet Memphis.
