Chester and Lilly

Chester was named by my brother, who loves the band Linkin Park, Chester is the first name of the lead singer. My mother and I wanted his name to be Harley, but I will admit now I cannot see him as anything other than a Chester. His middle name if Rooney. No real significant reason behind it, we just liked the way to sounded with his first name. He knows if we yell Chester Rooney, someones in trouble.

As for Lilly
I had been asking for a white boxer puppy for over three years. I always said that when I finally had her, her name would be Chole. Then I would have my Chester & Chole. My mom kept saying no, no, no and I knew having my little white puppy would have to wait until I moved out. But to my surprise for my birthday this past may, I got my little white Chole. However, when I looked at her she didn't look like a Chole, so Lilly it was. She just looked like a Lilly, all sweet, calm and loving. My don't things change quickly.

The name game

When we went to look at our puppy for the first time, she was very sweet and I instantly fell in love with her, but I am not really into sweet names. She is a brindle boxer and her markings go down both sides of her back like tiger stripes. So I said we should call her "tiger." My 4 yr old daughter was skipping through the yard and kept saying "Tiger Lily," which happen to be my favorite flower. And then the name Princess Tiger Lily came to me from the movie Peter Pan (she was the indian chief's daughter). With four kids, they tend to influence just about everything in our house, go figure!

I have T-name Tradition in my (human) family. So as to carry on with tradition, I named my girls with T-names, too. I didn't want to use a name I would actually name a child, so I opted for some new and/or original names.

Taloxi came from a Wedding Story, which is a tv show on TLC. There was a bride named Taloxi and I always thought that would be a beautiful name for a dog. ha ha

Trallis came out of the air. I was just trying to come up with something creative and voila! Trallis was born.

(I also have had Takoda & Tomah. They have now passed. I have 3 cats at home, too. Taisley & Tungsten follow suit with the t-tradition. Oscar is my odd-man-out.)

Jake and Jenna

When we got Jake from the rescue he was already named and a year old. So when we got him a baby girl to play with we were trying to think of J names. We spent hours...I wanted Jada and my husband wanted something else. Then it came to us...my husbands favorite woman in the world besides me is Jenna Jameson. So there it was Jenna.
