Honestly, Lance is named after Eric Stoltz's character in Pulp Fiction. Yes, the heroin dealer. We have a theme of naming pets after character's from the movie. Our black lab rescue is Mrs. Mia Wallace and my cat is Jules Winfield. Vincent didn't really flow off the tongue for me, and Lance is a German name so there you have it :D

But when certain others ask me if I named him after Lance Armstrong (I'm a cyclist) I say yep, sure did.

Ruby is a name I have always loved, I imagined naming my daughter Ruby growing up. BF's surname rhymes with Ruby and any child would be teased! So when we decided to get a girl, there was no discussion, Ruby she was!

 Almost the same story here. I wanted to name my daughter Daisy but our surname sounds the same almost (minus the 'y' sound) hence I talked my daughter into naming one of the kittens we've got Daisy ;)

To name both of ours, I went through lists of names and picked out the ones I liked then DH then got to choose which one he liked best. Not a real creative way but since we can't agree easily on names it works for us, this is also the way we named our son!!

Lucky is our first pet, so I had been making lists of names forever!! When we finally got him, he was 12 weeks old and his previous humans called him "Izzy". None of us cared for the name, so that was out of the question. I wanted to name him "Biggie", my children and husband liked "Rocky" or "Ali"...both "boxer" names. My husband then said "What about Lucky?" I didn't like it at first, so we all decided to give it another day. The day after we got him was 07-07-07, so when I woke up and realized what day it was, we HAD to name him "Lucky" ;)

Koa is Hawaiian which means Brave, Bold, Fearless.
I wanted a nice strong Polynesian name. :) And since we had already named dh boxer mix Tua ( After David Tua who is a Samoan Boxer ) Koa seemed to work for me.

Frazier is after Joe Frazier, the gentleman boxer-and he is :) Nysa is a greek name loosley translated to mean "new beginning". We got Ny after i lost my last sweet girl suddenly, who was Ailis, meaning "noble", which she truly was, my sweet angel girl angelicon

Scooter is on his third name (and third and last home)! He was called Sidney, Ringo and then Scooter. I didn't like the first two names, soooo... When I got him at eight month's, the poor baby didn't know how to do the stairs. He would sit on the top step, front legs on the step below, and then "scoot" his butt on to the next step! And forget about going up stairs, I had to carry him! We were watching him one day, scoot down the stairs, and Scooter he became! Now, he fly's up and down the stairs, and over the 3 foot high retaining wall with ease!!

My husband is a big St. Louis Cardinals fan and we both really like Scott Rolen, their 3rd baseman (although he's done for the season with a shoulder injury) and DH wanted to name our son Rolen if we ever had a boy...I said how about we name our puppy Rolen, so that's how Rolen became Rolen :) DH also gave up naming rights to our kids (when we start having children) if we could raise them Cardinals fans! Sounded like a good deal to me! :)

Brutus Be-Bop

My DH named Brutus. He wanted a strong name since brutus' daddy is huge so we assumed ours would be big. He loves the Ohio State buckeyes college football team. of course we were going over names after picking him out and he was like... we can name his Brutus....after the buckeye's mascot. So there it stuck... :)
