How did your boxer gets it's name.....

How did everyone decide on their boxers name? I watch cartoon network at night. They have adult cartoons on at that time. There is this one cartoon (my favorite) called InuYasha. The main character is a demon dog named InuYasha. So when I was thinking of a name for my boy that's what I came up with. I just made it shorter and Aasha he became. So he is named after my favorite cartoon. And he defiently lives up to it because he can be a little demon dog at times! Lol.

Fortune's Hurrican

I will be curious to see how everyone named their babies. Hurricane got his name because my husband is a catastrophe insurance adjuster (he worked at Hurricane Katrina for 4 months) and catastrophes tend to be good things for our family. He gets paid by the claim, so the more claims there are, the more money he makes. Its terrible for all the people who have their homes damaged, but its a job that has to be done. Anyway, when we decided to get our baby boy, we knew boxers are high energy, so it just sort of fell into place that his name would be Hurricane. Our next one will be either Cyclone or Twister.... maybe even Tsunami. Fitting don't ya think? (He has very much lived up to his name by the way...)

Waldo was already Waldo when we adopted him at the age of 2,I'm not sure who thought of his name,but it suits him to a T

We were looking for German names because the Boxer is a German dog, yadda, yadda, yadda. I saw Abbi and thought it was a sweet name. Then when we saw pictures of her, it seemed like it would fit perfectly because she just looked like such a sweetie. And she is! The FI wanted to name our male Tank because he thought it was a "tough" name. I said no, so he settled on Hayden (another German name). But now that he's home and getting older, Tank would've been more appropriate!! That boy is tough as nails and will go thru anything to get to where he wants to be!

We wanted a boxer name and named her Laila after Laila Ali! Barbara

Million Dollar Baby is one of my all time favorite movies. And it just so happens that the main character, (hilary swank), is a boxer in the movie and her name is maggie. i thought it was perfect! i didn't realize that maggie was such a popular name. oh well. i absolutely love it.

When we got Dakota his name was logan. The DW did not like the name sooo the DW and the DS made a list of about 40 different names, and we finally settled on dakota.

Beau's name was Bono when I got him. I didn't like it but I didn't want to change his name much to avoid confusion so I decided to change it to Bo. I wanted it to be short for something so I searched B names that could be shortened to Bo and found Beauregard. I thought it sounded like a very valiant name so my new baby's name went from Bono - Bo - Beauregard with Beau for short. I think it suits him perfectly. We all have B names in my house. I didn't intend for it to be that way but several people have pointed it out. Maybe I'll keep up the tradition with the next canine addition to my family

Chance is named after my very best friend growing up who passed away right after he turned 16 so it's my tribute to my best friend. It turns out it worked well because my four legged Chance is just a loyal and wonderful as my skin buddy Chance

Maximus and Axe

We named Maximus, but my sister-in-law named Axe...

Maximus' full name is Maximus Filiolus. Maximus b/c grandparents on both sides had Maximus in their names, and Filiolus in Latin means "little son." Since he's our first dog, and of course, my baby, it fits. Everyone thinks we named him after "Gladiator" but nope! He's my little son.

Axe's full name is Axle Backdraft. My sil was engaged (at the time, no more) to a fireman, who already had 2 dogs named Sparky and Blaze, so Axe seemed to be next in line. Axle Backdraft... well, he certainly flies like the wind in a backdraft!!!
