How did you meet your spouse?

In July of 1990, I got a letter in the mail from a girl named Carol. I was in New Mexico in the USAF and she was from Bristol,TX. She was working for the Summer with her aunt, who happened to be working with a lady from my church back home in Mesquite,TX. She gave Carol my address and we became "pen pals". We met at Thanksgiving. By Christmas we were "going steady" and by Easter, we were engaged. The whole time we were 500 miles apart, except when I managed to get a 3 day weekend. We married in October 1991, and I drug her to New Mexico kicking and screaming. We've been happily married for over 10 years and are blessed with 3 beautiful sons.

Any other interesting stories out there?

Also, has anyone married anybody that they met on BW?

What a nice story

My fiance and I did not meet on BW but we met in high school when we were 15 years old. He always had a crush on me and I just didn't like him,I am not sure why, but three years after graduation we went on our very first date and we haven't been apart since. We have been together 3 years now and working on 60 more together. He is the sweetest man and glad he never gave up on me. I love stories like yours, so I just wanted to reply with my story, its always nice to know their are people in this world who are happy.lovicon

I met my man at work!!!!!
We both work for the same company. When I started to work here, I started on the day shift to get my training. Then, my boss switched me to the night shift, where my boyfriend already worked.

In the beginning, I was wondering why he would spend soooooooooooooooooooo much time in my laboratory!!!!:D :D :D

After almost 5 months of "courtship", he finally gathered the courage to askmme out! Since I'm the only girl for almost 40 men, I didn't dare to ask him out first! I had a reputation to maintain!

We went out for the first time Saturday December 12th 1999... and been together ever since. We bought a brand new house last year in February and are starting to try for a family!lovicon lovicon lovicon lovicon

It is sometimes hard to be together 24 / 7, because we never get to miss the other one!!!!But we're still soooooooooooooooooooo madly in love!

He truly is my soulmate and I am his. We understand eachother so well! We never argue, and we never "let the sun go down on an argument". I think that is the key to our relationship!

Marie was seventeen and i was sixteen we met at a shopping centre where a crowd of us used to meet at weekends where we would catch a train out of town or find local parties to go to.She was with her sister who knew one of the lads we hung around with. And this is the truth, i attempted to throw an empty can of fizzy drink into a rubbish bin near where she was sitting but it hit the rim and bounced out and hit her on the leg "sorry" i grinned. Marie smiled back and replied " You will be ".

   Shorn, you can't say you weren't warned!

These are all great stories and I agree that it's nice to read about so many people who are happy with their partners. Rowdy's Dad, it has always been obvious to me that you love your wife very much, just by looking at your "signature." What a good man!

As for me and my husband, we met on a blind date in the Persian Gulf in 1991. I was working for State Deparment at our Embassy and he was with an offshore oil company. Before the date I made my friend swear that he was NOT the marrying kind, because I was a career girl with no interest in matrimony (or God forbid, kids!) ever. Ten years and three beautiful children later, I can only laugh at myself! I consider myself blessed many times over.;)

I also met Boris at work :) It was the very beginning of 1998. I had just started to work at a recently opened branch of a Moscow company when he arrived in our office to a business trip. I remember the moment I saw him for the first time, and he doesn't  Instead he remembers how he met a friend of mine who also worked there. He even said - oh, and I thought it was you smashicon LOL
Well, that's men :p I told to myself that they never paid much attention to details... However when I started complaining about our previous company a few months ago, he just said - anything bad you remember about them doesn't matter. What really matters is that we would never meet without them.

Well I met Mark on the bus to work.

We both worked at a University complex although in different departments. The University laid on a staff bus to bring people from our town (about 12 miles).

Anyway, I fancied him and a friend and I used to sit together on the bus, but we started moving back a little until around Christmas time at the University disco he asked me out - that was back in December 1985.

Now we have been married for 7.5 years and have 2 lovely girls.

Happily ever after!

Rowdy's Dad, Bravro what a nice thread! such nice reading!

I had just been recently divorced and he worked for the company who used to take care of my swimming pool, he would come and close and open, fix any repairs needed. I always found him so nice. Well one day I was sitting outside in the front of the house and I decided to walk down the street and get my mail , as I was walking he passed by in his truck and said Hi Mrs........ how are you? I was just coming to see you. So we went back and sat out in front and talked, apparently he had just left the company and was starting out on his own and was looking for customers. We talked about my divorce and how unhappy I was and how unhappy he was working for his former employer. We ended up having supper, swimming in the pool, it was as if I had been waiting all my life for him to come. At the restaurant we both went to pick up my car keys which were on the table and he touched my hand and he said he knew then it was meant to be, we always talk about the keys. We think the same thing at the same time, say the same thing, he treats me like a queen, We now work together and have our own swimming pool company. We have been together for 10 years, just got married last Dec 2. My two boys from my previous marriage live with us 21 and 23 yrs old also my ex husband who lives not far away all get along super together. When I count my blessings I count him twice.! He is everything one would wish for in a man, brings tears to my eyes. I love him so. lovicon (I'm not so bad myself)!
