I met my wonderful husband James at work. We started off as friends and then started dating. In february of 1999 we got engaged. ( Poor guy, he has it ruff in February) Feb. 13 was the date of our first real date, Feb. 14 val. day, and the 17th is my birthday. We were married on October 9, 1999. And it has been the most wonderful 2 1/2 years of marriage. I can get so sappy just talking about him. People told us that it would grow old between us. Never !!! I am so in love with him. That will never change. I still be butterflies in my stomach when I see him. I can't wait for him to get home from work. He works 3rd shift, so we don't have alot of time together. But we value every second we do !!!! I have 2 sons from a previous marriage. He loves those boys so much. As far as he is concerned, they are his. The adoption was final last year !!!! lovicon lovicon lovicon lovicon

Dan and I met at a alcohol free club in Everett, WA. I was actually dancing with one of his brothers and when we were done he come over joined our conversation. We danced a few songs. When I left he walked me out to my car and told me we would be married in 2 years. I told him I thought he was a feak and to leave me alone. We were married 3 years later and have been married for 11 years.

These stories have been a blast to read! I decided i might as well share Bill and mine. Bill's roommate KJ met me via AOL instant messanger and started to tell me about his great roommate and how I really needed to meet him la-di-da. KJ said he needed to get out more and basically get a life. I figured "whatever" but told KJ that if I ever saw Bill online I would strike up a conversation with him. about a month or so later Bill finally showed up online. I figured what the heck. I promised KJ I would do it. So I instant messaged him and we chatted for a bit and I liked him enough to give him my cell phone number. He called several times over the following week and each time we had great conversations. well KJ's girlfriend, Carol had been given the heads up to keep an eye and ear out to see if Bill and I had hooked up. She caught Bill on the phone w/ me one Sunday afternoon and talked him into inviting me over. So, I went over. Bill, the wonderful phone conversationalist barely spoke the entire time I was over. Carol fortunately is quite the talker :). Carol then decided we all needed to go to dinner. so we all loaded into Bill's car to discover he had left his lights on all night and thus killed his battery. So, we ended up taking Carol's car. I chose a Mexican restaurant and we had a decent time, Bill had relaxed enough to chat. Then we went and borrowed jumper cables from my parents house so he could go to work. (When we met he was working nights, 52 nights w/ no days off and no weekends. ) So he left and Carol asked what I thought of him and whatnot, I said "he's a nice guy not sure if he's my type though". Well, over the next 2 weeks he called pretty much everyday and we talked and talked and talked. On July 4th he called and invited me to their picnic and I agreed to come. We hit it off really well that time and have been together ever since. We were engaged August 13th of the same year and married December 29th of the same year(2000). As a side note, I am not even close to his normal type! I'm the opposite of pretty much everything he considered attractive. Good thing I have such a wonderful personality!

I met Ski (John) in Norway. He and I both were in the marines. We were both out there with our units in training. We had 12 hour shifts. He had the 1st 12 and I had the second. My first day reporting for duty I walked into the communications center at the bunker (that's where we were working) He and I were both radio operators. So anyway I walk in and I see him he smiles at me with the most beautiful smile I had ever seen in my life and says Good morning, Nieves (that being my maiden name). I said good morning and moved along. I was working with one of his friend sso when they left I asked him what his friends name was and he just said well it's kind of long so we just call him Ski. So then I asked does he have a girlfriend? His friend says NO (well come to find out later he did). Anyway the next morning I see him again, he says good morning and I notice he has a cigarette in his hand. So I said, "you know it's too bad you smoke cause if you didn't I'd go out with you." He says,"so what if I quit?" From then on we started writing each other letters during our shifts and exchanging them as we changed shifts. Those were our first dates just writing back and forth. We tried to tell each other evrything. The day before I was coming back to the states he approached the guys from my unit and asked them if he could take me for a walk. They said yes but he had to have me back with in 15 minutes if not they'd come get me. So off we went to walk in the snow. I was so nervous and afraid of falling and making a fool of myself. Anyway we walked for a bit and just talked. We atopped and had our first kiss under the Northern Lights. The next day we worked together so we had a chance to talk some more. We exchanged addresses and numbers. He was stationed in North Carolins and I in Brooklyn, New York. On the way back we had to stop at his base so I wrote him a letter on the plane and left it at his door. They had to stay for another week. A few weeks later he calls me at my house and asks if he can come visit. I said sure (I didn't really think he was coming)
He drove with some buddies all the way from North Carolina and well the rest is pretty simple, we met in February, got engaged in August, got married in November all of the same year this year will make 9 years we've been together. I still call him Ski (I will never call him John) and he still smokes:mad: but I love him more now than ever.

I was jet skiing on Lake Ashby, when my jet ski broke down. I was in the middle of the lake, which I found out later is full of gators:eek: . Jeff was also jet skiing, we had come as a big group of people and he came with other friends of mine. Jeff rode over and fixed the jet ski, the throttle cable had come loose not allowing the jet ski to go. My knight on a shining white jet ski (his ski was really white)! We went out the following night and have been together ever since, we dated for 3 1/2 years and have been married for 6 years and 7 months.lovicon

Also, has anyone married anybody that they met on BW?

This already happened 4 years ago. She was from Poland and he was from Canada (originally from Poland too). I was invited to their wedding but unfortunately I couldn't be there as it was during my exams period at the university. They have a daughter who is one year old and I think they will have their second baby this month :)
They both live in Poland now.
