Super Boxer
Bailey (a rescue - boxer/greyhound mix) was named by my mom. At the time, I had Baker (a beagle/lab mix from the Humane Society - named after a boyfriend that had died) and Bailey sorta went with Baker, I guess.

Cassie (a rescue - boxer/akita mix) came with that name, so we kept it. We call her Moose a good part of the time, as she's pretty big.

Scooby (a rescue - white boxer/amer bulldog mix) came with the name Scooby Doo. We let my 15 yr old stepdaughter decide on his name, and she wanted to keep Scooby. I insisted that Scooby Doo was too cliche', so we went with Scooby Rubin (all my dogs have a first and middle name).

Buster (a rescue - purebred brindle boxer) was named Jesse by the shelter that had him. They didn't know his name, as he came from the City Pound, so he was Jesse for 2 days. That name didn't fit him at all - he definitely looks like a Buster - and now acts like one too!

Gazou's name comes from the Flinstones, you know the little alien green guy! We wanted something fun and something we hadn't heard before...after about 2 months we decided on Gazou. That's before we even meet him!

Samantha was named by her first owner, so I didn't change it. It suits her. I call her Sam or Sammy sometimes or cutie patootie.

Beau was named by his foster mommy, and it suits him too. I was going to name him Banjo, but it didn't sound right to me. I also call him Bud or Brat--depending on how he is behaving that day!

When I was little, my family had a bird dog named Maggie and when Greg was youner, he had rottie/lab mix named Magnum. We decided that the first dog we owned together as a family would be named after them. Since we got a male, we named him Magnum.

Omar was named by his previous owners. He was named after their son's favorite baseball player. They asked us if we were going to change his name and we said no - his name is Omar. Besides, he looks like an Omar.

Greg is a HUGE Raiders fan (he grew up in Sacramento) so someday we'll probably have an "Oakley" and a "Raider".

Unfortunatly mine where both named before I ever met them...but Duke and Roxy both fit there names well, so I felt no need to change them. Maybe one day we will have a puppy and get to name it...but I cannot see that happening, we will rescue again for sure !!!!

Laurie.

When we were waiting for our boxer to be ready to pick up we went through many names. We wanted a German name but it's so hard to choose the right one. So we thought of some others also: Sabre, Otto, Oskar, Kaiser...We decided on Oskar (German spelling)

Boxer Buddy
This sounds bad, when we first got our rescue boy (originally just to foster) he had just been neutered and used to hump EVERYTHING! We kept calling him "Chester the Molester" and Chester ended up sticking. Of course he always has that goofy look on his face, so my husband continually calls him "Dufus", which I really think he prefers!

Ella is named after Ella Fitzgerald. She is follows in her footsteps with the Woo Woo's as well.

When we got our first Boxer (a female), we did not think that she looked very feminine(sp) so we wanted a name that wasn't to girly so we named her Max. Our second Boxer was named Buster even before we got Him. We both read the story about Buster the Boxer from Florida and it moved us both very much. As it turns out the name really fits our little boy!!!!
