Boxer Pal
Our first Boxer, Buddy (now at the Bridge) was actually named Budweiser. When he came into our home as a pup, unnamed, we had a hard time agreeing on what this little guy should be called. My husband was picking the more macho type names, I thinking that once he grew up, people might be intimidated by him, figured he deserved a friendlier name. Our son was home from college, we were sitting outside and my son was drinking a beer. All of a sudden he said "Let's call him Budweiser! We thought about it, and agreed, Budweiser aka Buddy. Buddy is the name that stuck, we only called him Budweiser when he was in trouble, or if we wanted his immediate attention. I tended to call him Babe more than anything, and he did answer to my call for Babe.

Kailee came to us as a rescue, already named by her previous home. I thought the name a tad bit unusual, thought about changing it, but for some reason Kailee suits her, She is a true Miss Kailee. I do tend to call her Missy a fair bit, and she does answer to Missy.

Clyde came to us as a rescue as well, already named by his previous home. What can I say, He is a true blue Clyde aka Clod (You see he isn't always very graceful) I find although hubby always calls him Clyde, I without thinking call him My Little Bambino and if I call Bambino he comes to me

DixieDiana

Boxer Buddy
Dixie's full name is 'Precious Dixie Diana'
Precious was part of her mother's name....My hubby just liked the name Dixie....and Diana is in honor of Princess Diana, whom I admired

Brittany's full name is 'Buddy's LiL' Tiger Brittany'
Buddy is her father's name
LiL' Tiger....she is a brendle and looked like a little tiger when we got her
Brittany is because my hubby used to be a fan of Britney Spears  (Notice I wouldn't let him spell it the same ;) )

Mabelline.....She got her name because she is a White boxer with a splash of fawn and black across one eye that looks like eye shadow

Maggie Mae....Hubby always wanted to name one of our babies Maggie

We also have an AKC registered Dalmatian
Skylar.....his full name is 'Sir Skylar Lotzadots'
On our way to pick up Skylar....we passed a small community named Schyler....I liked the name but didn't care for the spelling..so that part was changed. If you could see him, you would definitely know why part of his name is Lotzadots :D

Madison's Mom

Completely Boxer Crazy
Madison is named from the movie "Splash". We were looking at all the movies in our collection. We wanted to name her TaTonka but I just couldn't see myself outside yelling TaTonka, TaTonka :o (from the movie Dances with Wolves).

Carson was named because his legs were bowed a little and his chest was so big as a pup that he looked like a old gun fighter and the name Carson just fit. Not to mention it sounds good with Madison.

Justin had his name when we bought him - it's short for Just in Time. Marley was named by our daughter after Bob Marley the singer.

How about Princess Pooter

Boru was a rescue dog, already named when I got him. The rescue people were into history and named him after a 15th century king of Ireland, Brian Boru. I liked it, so he got to keep it. kingicon

Samson's name comes from the Bible. We almost got a female boxer and were going to name her Delilah but along came my mixed breed and now my Bichon Frise was added to the clan just a few months ago. No Delilah in the near future.

SC's Mom

Super Boxer
Caesar is named after Caesar's Palace in Vegas. My hubby is a gambler and I can't win anything but the week before we were to pick up Caesar we were out there and I won some good money at Caesar's. We figured on keeping the luck with us and naming the puppy Caesar. Up until then the breeder was calling him Greta's Runty. NO way was that staying with him! He's still a runt but boy does he like to try his luck with us!

Gnarly's full name is Bocien Justice in June. This is his registered name which is actually picked by the breeder so we had nothing to do with that, the breeder actually called him Judge, as a puppy and his brother was Jury. (We didn't know he was Judge til after we had named him, because Judge would have fitted him nicely)

When we were thinking of names I liked Marley and my boyfriend said yeah thats GNARLY really sarcastically. And after that every time we spoke about getting the new puppy we kept saying GNARLY so it just stuck. It's different and most people comment on it.
