How and Why did you decide on your boxers name?

We will be picking up our puppy on the 28th (the wait is driving us crazy) since it is supposed to be my wife's baby she gets to name him. She was going to choose Tyson for a name but since that name is so common she chose Trouper instead. Since my wife works for the Sherriff's dept. that name fit. I will post some pics once he gets settled in.

Me and my boyfriend didn't know what to name our new baby. We knew that we wanted it to be something that would match his future brother's name, Chaos, who's a green iguana. I use to be really into the whole punk scene and I said that the true punks' motto was Chaos and Anarchy. When I pitched that to my boyfriend, he loved it. So that's how our little one got the name Anarchy. And believe me........he's all the upheaval we need.

I'm a really huge fan of Stephen King, so when we first got our Boxer/German Shepard mix, we named her Susannah Dean (character in SK's Dark Tower series).
So of course when we got our new boy, we named him after the main character's name. Of course, since it was our girls that picked the name and they couldn't decide, the whole name is Roland Deschain Dog Vadar Medina-Ingram. LOL, that's a mouthful. We call him Rollie for short.

I think my husband came up with the name Cooper. He is a huge baseball fan and he tells people he picked Cooper after Cooperstown where the baseball hall of fame is located. He didn't tell me that at the time, but that's the story we always tell now

We took a few things into account in naming our boxer mix. I have always been a huge music buff, so i said the name had to be music related. We also had to have a name that our small children could say. layla was tossed around, but didn't seem to fit. My wife suggested Emma, the name of a bass player i have a crush on (). the kids could say it and it seemed to fit, so Emma it was. the band the bass player is from: the Sick Puppies. heh

I chose Keyser. Kind of a tribute to the German "lineage".

Had to go with the alternate spelling though, because I'm a fan of the movie The Usual Suspects (Keyser Soze).

Hurcules was nameless for about a week while me and my friends though names at him, Then "Hurcules" just popped in my head when i was walking him cuz he is a stong puller, hahaha

When I went to go get my boxer, I was originally going to get a male, but fell in love with the girl. I had a boy named all ready (Duke) but when I got my girl, I totally forgot about naming her . Was going to go with Dani, but thought something more feminine may suit her and others wouldn't get her mixed up as a boy, so I ended up naming her Mya (something easy and simple) . My nephew can't quite say it, , but he's learning

Well, I'm a huge Virginia Tech fan and Frank Beamer is the head coach, so hince "Beamer" I thought about "Laney" after Lane stadium, but went with the other. Her name for AKC will probably be "Beamer Laney Foster". Foster comes from Bud Foster, the best defensive coach in the nation...LOL!

Its really kinda silly how Kenya got her name, she was trying to jump up on our bed and I kept saying "can ya do it, come on, can ya?", and my husband just looks at her and said that is a her name, Kenya. Our other dogs names are Chaz and Suni, so we really wanted something that did not sound like either one of their names either.
