I've got a bit of a dilema, my wife won't let me bring my dog in the house anymore..she says he makes the house smell like cornchips. He's now staying in the tool room, where I layed down some carpet and he's got a heater...what can I do to convince her to let me bring him inside....Oh just kidding about the him or her thing..

Do you have a boxer or another breed of dog?

Does he smell like cornchips because he passes gas or because his fur smells that way. If you can determine what makes him smell, other than being a dog, then there might be something you can do to minimize the smell.

Tell her no

Tell her that it is mean to leave your baby out... Boxers love their owners and need to be with you! Also tell her it could be worse he could make the house smell like $hit!

See if you can't find some sort of compromise...I put aqua Di Gio Armani cologne on Dozer! It smell's great and it take's forever to wear off!

Maybe then he can stay inside where he belongs!

What do you feed? Maybe a food without corn will help. My Chloe is on canidae and the only thing that smells like cornchips are her feet! I like cornchips so i dont mind, mmmmmm

Oh my GOD! that is exactly what my bf says our Gnarly smells like.... "doritos". But we just put up with it coz we couldn't leave him outside... he's part of the family.

We feed Gnarly BARF, curious as to what you feed?

You might want to ask your Vet what you can do to help reduce the odor. Usually a good bath will do the trick, but if that doesn't help maybe the Vet will have some other ideas.

That is actually very sad because boxers need to be with their people!! He is being deprived of exactly what boxers thrive on...love and attention, the bonding with his family!!! Keeping him isolated is just cruel...IMPO.
My dogs have a "doggy" smell, Spirit mostly. I buy him a cologne at the Pet Supply store called "Timmy Holedigger", and you would swear it was the real Tommy Hilfigger cologne!! I spray him once and the smell lasts for 3-6 days, then I spray him again! Please try something like that so you can get him back into the house where he belongs!

I have to agree with Michelle here.
I think it is mean to keep any dog in a tool room.
Try the cologne idea, hopefully it works.
