Thanks everyone for their kind words & thoughts. Miss Bea is doing well today, she is perky and standing on her own (we still hold the towel under her abdomen slack ready to support her is necessary). She is eating very well and just loves Rocky to death! Her eyes follow him everywhere he goes and God forbid he lay down away from her. She will whine until he gets the message and moves closer to her! She even made a chewbacca noise for him today!
Very little blood in her urine today, still pooping well. She snores wen she sleeps and is so quiet. She will sit or lay very still content to watch all the house traffic. I am almost scared of how silly she is going to be when she has full mobility! I spoke with the boxer rescue in San Antonio and unfortunately it is a not going to be able to help at all with Bea's surgery. I did give them all her info in case someone calls looking for their missing boxer. I e-mailed the local newspaper today to set up a found dog ad, but I don't hold much hope for it to be answered. I felt so badly about the boxer rescue, apparently it is a 1 person deep group with 1 other volunteer. Later when things settle I will have to get her info and send some help. My hubby was teasing me that I could apply for government aid and become my own rescue group with all the activity as of late! I told him I was thinking about it with a straight face and he threatened divorce!
My dad has officially changed his mind: I am not dumb, just incredibly boxer crazy. He said this while Miss Bea thoroughly licked his face, yes he is hooked.
I officially told the vet today that I am accepting all responsibility for Miss Bea and we will set up a fund as I have several friends, family & co-workers who have volunteered to help. Yes, it is unexpected but we will be OK I promise. So now I wait until tomorrow to see if Bea can be fit in for surgery on Friday, if not we are looking at early next week.
I know about the vet in Sonterra, that is the same group that Mia went to for her chemo last year. Yes, they are expensive, but they are excellent! The surgeon who will be taking care of Bea travels to several offices and has worked with those surgeons and I am confident he will do a great job.
I posted more pictures of Bea with Rocky (pending approval right now), they are so cute together! I am hoping at this point that we do not find an owner, cause we are really hooked on this girl, but will still see what happens if someone comes forward. I will make plain how much I have invested in her, but hopefully it will not come to that. Need some more BW vibes to make sure we get a surgery date ASAP and she does well. Thanks!
