Ok people, this morning on my way to work I saw a dog hit by a car. This little brown pup got hit in the rear and rolled. I held my breath, then yelled so scared it would get hit again. Thankfully it made it to the side of the road where it collapsed. I turned around at the next intersection and backtracked and saw it laying in the grass. By the time I got there, there was a lady looking at it and I got out of my car to see if it would live and there was this little boxer girl looking at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen. She was not panting or yelping, but had curled into a tight ball and seemed to say I know I am not going to make it! I asked everyone around if they had seen this dog before (by now there was a small crowd) and everyone said no. So I scooped up this girl and announced I was taking her up the road to a vet. By know she was bleeding out of her vulva and her abrasions in between her legs looked sored and angry.

She has no microchip, no collar, no heart worms, but does have tapeworms. X-rays confirmed a broken hip (where the socket joins in the hip) in several pieces. She appears to be 4-5 months old and weighs 26 lbs. So $692.00 later this afternoon I find myself with "Bea". My head is spinning! My hubby rescued a boxer girl about 3 months ago (Chula is now adopted by my mom & dad). I called my dad crying and he said I was crazy...what did I think I was going to do, save every dog in the world? I told him I could not leave her to die on the side of the road from shock. Bea is in my home and I am going to put an ad for a missing dog in the paper. She is thin, very hungry, and was covered in fleas (meds at the vet got rid of that very quickly). Surgery to repair her hip will be another $700.00-$1000.00. Oh and did I mention she has a cherry eye! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

But she kissed me this evening and wiggled her nubby when I fed her some hamburger meat & rice. I have no idea what in the heck I am going to do and though I know I am the biggest sucker for boxers I can't help but be happy that I saved her life today. I posted pics in my gallery just a couple of minutes ago. Advice please!

I don't have any advice but I'm sure others will. I just had to say Hooray for you. I would have done the same thing and House Payment?...what House Payment? That had to have been awful to see and then when you got there and it was a Boxer...Whoa.. I think it was meant to be you! appicon I just knew I was going to keep reading and find out she died. I had a big grin though at the end of this heart wrenching story. Bless YOU!

appicon to you!! I would have done the exact same thing. humm, what to do, what to do? Well I notice you are ONLY the moma of one Boxer baby and a Boxer-wannabe (the BT:)) sooooo, are you in the market for your boxer to have a sister? Or maybe contact the local Boxer rescue in your area..

She's a sweet baby. Poor thing. The Brat Pack (Echo and Carson) send lots of healing kisses to sweet Bea.

Oh Dora, I think you are one amazing person..I have been following your posts about Miss Chula..and was marvelling there, on how wonderful you are...Now you are doing it all over again..I think you were meant to witness this happening, as you are definitely an angel, and the big man upstairs knew you would rescue her, and take care of the poor little soul, she couldn't be in better hands than yours.
We are sending sweet little Bea tons of healing vibes, and lots of love to you too..I hope this story has a happy ending.

You are not crazy. You are wondeful and generous. Just ask Bea, she will tell you. :) She is prescious. Everything happens for a reason, she is very lucky you were there when you were.

You truly have a heart of gold and the animals are better for it :) Those pictures are just too precious. How could anyone look into those sweet eyes and not do anything to help her? Thanks to you, she has a chance to get better and enjoy the good life every dog deserves. I can't wait to hear more about her progress and if you decide you can keep her yourselves!
