Dora, you're absolutely amazing. I would have done the same thing, any animal, boxer or not.
I don't think i would try to find a previous owner though. You said she was thin, had worms and fleas. Doesn't sound like she was very well cared for, until now:)
Rox and I are sending lots of <<<<healing>>>> vibes to Bea for a quick recovery.
You are truly special person!

Dora--the first thing I did when I got to work this morning was check this thread!!

My heart aches for little Bea, she must be in so much pain. But she is with a family who is giving her lots of love and TLC! It sounds like it was meant to be if Mia is helping to take care of the precious little bundle!

Please, please keep us updated!! :)

God bless you Dora! There are not many people in this word as generous and compassionate as you! Please give little Bea a kiss from me and Killian. Hearing stories like this restores my faith in the human race! :)

How wonderful you are! She is so lucky you got to her in time. Sounds like she's fitting in nicely. Paws crossed that you are able to find help for her surgery!

It seems a number of members aren't aware of the rules for participating on boxerworld - specifically the part about no solicitations. Nobody is allowed, under any circumstances, to use boxerworld as some sort of fundraiser. Those posts are all deleted. Anyone making further posts of that nature will be banned from the site.

I Have been in your shoes. I was driving home some years ago on a back highway that ran from my grandmothers to my house. People drive entirely too fast and there are a couple of residential small towns that don't even have a stop light. So here I am driving home and all of a sudden two boxers come bounding out of a field and into the road right into oncoming traffic. One managed to make it across the road without a scratch the other was hit. He did a complete roll over the top of the hood and somehow managed to run off. I panicked I didn't him them but being the boxer lover I was I instantly turned around. The dog who was hit was leaping and bounding through a field. There was no way I was going to catch him but the other boxer and older fawn boy with a greying muzzle was just stading there in a driveway like he didn't quite know what to do. So me not really even thinking twice about it turned around and pulled into the driveway. He had no collar, no tags, nothing. By that time I couldn't even see where the brindle had ran off to. The person driving hadn't even stopped and there was no mistake that they had hit a dog. It made me furious to think they didn't even stop. Nobody did. I managed to get that little old man into my SUV and all he seemed to care about was the fact that it was cooler inside. He was frothing at the mouth not foaming just was hot and obviously was on an adventure. I drove down the street to the little police station and as I said without even thinking walked in leaving my preschool aged son in the car with a dog I didn't know. I look back and think what a fool I was but at the time I just cared about the one that had gotten away. I wanted one of the officers to go find him. They wouldn't touch the dog. They had an outdoor kennel and asked if I could just pull up next to it and they would let the dog in there to see if someone came to claim him. The little old man started barking and growling at the officer when he came to try to reach across my son to slip a noose around his neck to lead him by. The dog hadn't reacted to me like that at all and it kind of shocked me. I managed to get him into the kennel without incident and called the next day. Amazingly the boxer who had been hit ran home scared with nothing more than a couple of scrapes and a broken nail or two and they had come to claim the little old man the next day. We all do what we have to and I wouldn't have done anything different that day. Boxer lovers are like that I think .. we all do what we have to do for the breed.

Dora you are an angel for helping all the animals you've saved over the years. And I know I would have stopped too for the dog even if I didnt know it was a boxer. Too bad you can't call the police and report a person who just flat out hits an animal without even attempting to brake. But now Bea has a safe home and sounds like she is fitting in well with Rocky and Mia too. Are you going to run an ad in the paper to try to find her owners or do you think she was just a dog without a home? Sounds like she was in pretty bad shape before she got hit even, glad things are going better for her. Titan sends get well wiggles to her and give that sweet girl some kisses too. She's beautiful and keep us posted on how she's doing please. Sending vibes her way~~~~.
