healthy weight for a 7 month old?

My Sam is 7 months and weighs 40 lbs. I thought he was small for his age, but sounds like this is pretty much the average. He goes through phases where sometimes he looks skinny...and then he starts gaining again.

Burtess is 9 months and weighs 61 lbs. I think he may have started another growth spurt as he gained 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks. Before that he had a stagnant spell where he didn't gain weight for over a month, but you could see other changes in his body appearance.

When Boo was neutered at 6 months ..he weighed a whopping 55 lbs ..so at 7 months I know he was over 60 ..He is now 19 months and 80+ lbs ...haven't weighed him in a few months ..He is still rather lankly ..but very tall ...28 at the withers. ..Yep he is a big strong growning boy..

I have a boxer and he weighs about 47 pounds and he is about 8 1/2 months. I feed him about 3-4 cups a day of Ekanuba (sP). So I think that you are fine!

Well Ajax is about a week away from the 6 month mark and he's just a little guy. I took him to the vet today to talk about the neutering process and as well because I was worried that he is so small - the guy's only 33.5lbs!

But the vet said he looks great and is perfectly healthy, so that's a relief. It's not like I'm gonna throw him out just because he's small! Only had him for a month and I love him to death already, but I hope I'm not in the wrong to be hoping for one of those growth spurts...

Well I don't know how to edit my last post, but siffice it to say that I'm dumb.

Ajax is not nearing 6 months, but rather 5. He was born Jan 14 and I've been remice in my basic math and got my numbers wrong.

Now his 33.5 lbs weight doesn't seem too bad, but still small.

Height counts a lot when you are considering a boxer's weight! Our Sugar is one year old (just turned) and weighs only 44 pounds, but then she is only 21 inches at the shoulder. She is exactly right for her size because she is not the most chesty of boxers, and when you run your hands over her ribs they can be clearly felt but not seen. Some dog food bags show pictograms of a healthy dog -- clearly defined waist, nice scoop to the chest. You want to be able to feel all her ribs under her coat easily, but you should also feel a thin covering of fat under the skin. That's what I understand, and I have always been very concerned about her small size, so I have been reading up! Hope that helps.

we have a hoss

rocky just turned 9 months old and he weighs 65lbs maybe more now, but his daddy was big. the vet told us he was just going to be a big boy. my husbands nephew has one and he is 2 yrs old and he only weighs like 50 so they are all different in that way.
