Handsome Joe was a bad boy at the vet's office today!!

I wouldn't be too concerned if they want to muzzle him. If by muzzling him they can treat the injury/problem more quickly and with less restraint, the faster the muzzle is off and the stress is off for everybody, especially the dog. Better a two minute procedure with a muzzle on than a 10 minute wrestling match without one.

Awww! Poor Joe! He's got an owwie and that bad old vet is messin with it! Since he had an owwie...he thought someone else should have one too! I've had my experience with the foot soaks before, and Herkie would not have it at all, I had to soak a rag with the solution and wrap his foot and hold him that way for 10 min twice a day. So at least Joe is being a good boy about that. I'm with Debbie...I say we have an all around BW toast before the trip to the vet! Give Joe hugs and kisses for me.

Debbie, he goes in at 8:30 AM Friday.I do believe that is 6:30 your time so you will need to set your alarm to drink with me! Joe was a little nervous of what his Auntie Debbie would think of his behavior. Then I just started telling him all about your babies, and well, need I say more? Cheryl

To everyone who had flavored orange juice this morning!

We are back from the vets. I thought with all of the paw soaking we did, the thorn in Joe's foot was out. However, the vet told me different. I was holding Joe's head (gee, I wonder why ) while the vet starts poking around the boo boo. He had to go off to get the dreaded "tools." As he was walking out I called out "Bring a tech because I can't watch this." He came back talking about pus, infection and other gross things. All I could hear was blah,blah, blah. The floor started to sway and I knew it was time for me to make a break for it. Yep, that's right, I whimped out. I thought I'd pass out, so I made a break for it. As I was leaving, I told the Tech to protect her face. About one minute later, the vet came out with Joe. We have no idea what the thing was that was causing all the trouble. It almost looked like a bristle from a hair brush. So we are home now, resting, thinking nice thoughts. So it seems this trauma is over. Joe thanks all of you for your concern.

I feel worse for you Cheryl, than poor Joe. Joe, you can't do this to mommy ever again!!!! So glad it is all over. Now go finish that bottle and take a well deserved nap!!!!

I'd have done exactly the same thing I'm fine about blood etc. when it doesn't involve one of my own fur/skin kids. Glad it's all over and you managed to find the culprit. Hope Joe feels much better now his ordeal is over

Whew, thank goodness that is over...now bring on the rest of that vodka!! Isn't it odd how these babies hurt us more than anything. If had been MY toe, I'd have been right in there trying to help him, but if it is one of my babies...Yep, I'd be sitting there bawling like a baby. I am glad that you and HJ have this behind you, so snuggle him for me and enjoy your weekend! lovicon
