Gus doesn't feel good :(

I don't know how I missed this thread! I was so worried about sweet Gus reading through all of your posts until I got to the one saying he was home. I must admit that I am a little partial to Gus and love hearing about him and seeing pictures and videos of him (he is just so darn cute!) so I was very relieved to hear that he is doing better. If he is allowing you to give him kisses yet please give him a smooch from me I will keep my fingers crossed that this was just a freak occurrence and won't happen again!

Great news in regards to the no lymphoma! I hope it turns out to have just been an uncomfortable injury from a stick. Keeping fingers and paws crossed for Mr. Gus and you.

Gus is doing so well, you would never know by looking at him now, how sick he was, and how much pain he was in.

I will keep you all posted. I should get results from the masticatory myocitis early next week.

Sarah - I haven't been on the site for quite awhile, and am glad I stumbled upon your thread. I was so scared reading through the posts until I came to where he was OK. I have been thinking of emailing you about us getting together again before it gets too cold and maybe letting our boys play in my back yard this time. I'm SO GLAD that Gus is alright and can't imagine how scared you must have been. I was sitting here with tears in my eyes scanning for your posts and was so relieved to read that he had come home. Please let me know if there's anything I can do, even though he's on the road to recovery!

I have been kissing his cute, adorable smooshy face so much, its probably driving him crazy!!! I gave him a few from you!!! I have to make up for the days that I couldn't kiss his face, hehe!

Gus is still doing great! He lets me touch and kiss his face, and open his mouth! He plays mouth with Izzy and tug. I can't believe how sick he was and now how great he is doing.

The vet called today and said that the masticatory myositis test came back negative. I don't want my baby to be sick, but there is still part of me that thinks that thats what it was. I am wondering if they drew the blood on the day that he felt better. Also, 15% of doggies with it test negative. Maybe since it was an acute attack, it didn't show anything. I just hope he stays healthy and this doesn't happen again, because it was so scary. He was so sick, it was scary. I will post a short video clip later of what he looked like when we were waiting at the vet. At least now I know if it happens again what it is.

Now we just have to go back in a week to get his liver enzyme rechecked. I will post after we get that test back. Hopefully he will be in the clear

Glad Gus is back to feeling great. A silent and still Boxer is never a good sign. Will continue hoping for good news with the enzyme test.
